We are a workers’ compensation specialty insurer founded in 1993 and headquartered in Portland, Maine. We aim to lower injury rates and workers’ compensation costs. We operate throughout the Northeast, Mid‑Atlantic, and Southeast, and are licensed in all states. We serve over 20,000 employers and an estimated 300,000 employees, providing dedicated safety and injury management teams. Our services include claims management and workplace safety.

A.M. Best rates us “A” (Excellent). We work with independent local insurance agencies, and our Senior Production Underwriters manage those relationships. Our local teams provide Loss Control, Claims, and Premium Audit services.

Our Claim Specialists investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve lost time workers’ compensation claims. Our Senior Guidewire Integration Developers configure PolicyCenter and BillingCenter, and build Guidewire Cloud integrations. Our Loss Control Consultants identify, assess, and conduct risk evaluations at policyholder sites.

We provide a 401(k) Retirement Plan with a match up to 5%, plus profit sharing and discretionary contributions (subject to vesting). You receive 5 weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) and 11 paid holidays.
