Area Marketing Manager

🇯🇵 Japan - Remote
📢 Marketing🟠 Manager

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Area Marketing Manager to lead and deliver end-to-end marketing across Japan, one of our most strategically important markets. This is a high-impact, hybrid role based in Tokyo, offering the opportunity to own regional marketing strategy, performance, and budget while working closely with Sales and APAC/global marketing teams.

You’ll be responsible for translating global and APAC marketing objectives into locally relevant, high-performing campaigns that drive lead generation, pipeline growth, brand awareness, and revenue — with clear accountability for return on investment.

The role

Reporting to the Area Marketing Director, APAC, and working closely with the Japan sales team and global marketing colleagues, you will:

  • Execute, maintain, and support global and APAC marketing strategies within the Japanese market

  • Develop and deliver localized marketing plans for Japan, informed by market insights and commercial priorities

  • Act as the key marketing partner to the Japan sales team, supporting demand generation, pipeline growth, and revenue objectives

  • Plan and deliver integrated marketing initiatives including lead generation campaigns, webinars, events, go-to-market launches, awards, and thought leadership

  • Localise and activate global campaigns and content across email, digital, social media, PR, and events

  • Build and manage automated marketing programs, tracking KPIs, ROI, and performance metrics

  • Own and manage the Japan marketing budget, including planning, tracking spend, and reporting on ROI, in close partnership with APAC and global marketing teams

  • Develop and maintain a strong social media presence aligned to brand and PR strategies

  • Collaborate with APAC and global marketing teams to ensure consistency, reuse of best practices, and alignment with broader objectives

  • Stay up to date with relevant legislation and compliance requirements

  • Provide analysis, insights, and reporting across marketing activities

  • Support the Area Marketing Director, APAC with regional initiatives and priorities

About you

You’re a commercially minded, proactive marketer who is comfortable operating autonomously while collaborating in a global, matrixed organisation. You bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 6+ years’ experience in marketing, communications, or PR, ideally within B2B and/or technology environments

  • Proven experience delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns with measurable business impact

  • Native-level Japanese language skills (spoken and written)

  • Strong English language skills for collaboration with APAC and global stakeholders

  • Experience working with marketing automation platforms and analytics tools (e.g. HubSpot, Marketo, Google Analytics)

  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce or Dynamics 365

  • Strong strategic, analytical, organisational, and project management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

  • Confidence working in a multi-cultural, international environment

  • Willingness to travel as required

Why join us?

  • Own and shape marketing strategy and budget for a key APAC market

  • Hybrid working model based in Tokyo

  • High visibility role with close partnership across Sales and Marketing leadership

  • Opportunity to influence both regional and global marketing initiatives

  • Collaborative, international working environment with scope to innovate and grow
