Job Description
Be a subject matter expert on Cayman Unit Trusts, be a knowledge point of contact for more junior members of the team. Help the Senior Associate Director overseeing the day to day running of the team. Ensure tasks and deliverables across the team are met. Help the Director of the Cayman Trustee team in setting the vision and structure of the team.
Deliverables
- Ensure that the Trusts are set up legally and are compliant with applicable legislation and regulations
- Manage all risks related to Trust work that may result in any liability to MUFG and ensure the Trustee’s fiduciary responsibilities are adhered to
- Ensure that all regulatory fees are paid on an annual basis and on time
- Ensure trusts are billed in a timely manner and follow up on late invoice settlement
- Assist in annual audits as required and ensure audited financials are filed
- Ensure that all agreements and documents are in order and on file
- Oversight of delegates and service providers
- Review and sign documents on behalf of the Trustee.
This opportunity requires the successful candidate to attend the Cayman office weekly, so is unsuitable for applicants unable to fulfil this requirement.
Qualifications
- Degree and / or ICSA and / or STEP Qualification
- At least 5 years’ experience within the trust and corporate administration field
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
- Review and understand all Trust formation documents to ensure the Trust documents are properly interpreted and implemented
- Design and implement controls around appointment of other service providers to each trust and ongoing due diligence and oversight requirements on those providers
- Detailed understanding of trust and corporate structures and related statutory requirements and local legislation
- An understanding of anti-money laundering policies and guidelines
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
