Job Description – Technology Architect (DevOps, Expert)

Platform: Linux

Good to Have Skills: Puppet

Requirements

  • Ability to manage time and projects effectively
  • Solid experience with Puppet Enterprise or Puppet Open Source (Puppet 4 or later)
  • 5+ years of experience in:
    • Software DevOps
    • Systems Administration
    • Automation
    • Network Infrastructure
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
  • Strong background in Unix/Linux SysAdmin or DevOps, including automation
  • Strong customer relations and presentation skills (comfortable speaking with customers and audiences)
  • Excitement about working with the Puppet Enterprise and Open-Source community
  • Passion for problem-solving
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Technical degree ( CS / IT / Engineering / IT Security) or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with clients and internal teams via:
    • Face‑to‑face meetings
    • Telephone
    • Virtual meetings
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Strong logic and reasoning skills to evaluate alternative solutions and approaches
  • Puppet Certification is a plus

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Programming skills: Ruby, Python, Go, etc.
  • Windows systems administration experience (including PowerShell)
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure
  • Knowledge of:
    • Data center management
    • Systems management
    • Monitoring
    • Networking & security
  • Professional services experience in an open-source or enterprise software company

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers to design and implement solutions for faster and more reliable software delivery
  • Deliver Puppet training and workshops
  • Assist the education team to maintain and update training content
  • Provide pre-sales support to Sales & Marketing
  • Develop, publish, and maintain Puppet modules and products
  • Develop and promote integrations and tooling around Puppet products
  • Contribute blog posts and communication content related to Puppet
