Job Description
NETZSCH G&D are seeking a hands-on QA Automation Engineer (Mid-level) to take end-to-end ownership of quality for our global Customer Portal built on Salesforce B2B Commerce and Experience Cloud (LWR). You will help ensure production-ready deliveries across the full customer journey (user management, catalog, RFQ, checkout, service and analytics), with a strong focus on reliable SAP and enterprise integrations.
A key part of this role is to build and evolve an automation approach that prioritizes API and integration test coverage, complemented by lightweight UI smoke tests for critical portal journeys, and to embed these validations into CI/CD to support safe and predictable releases.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
Own QA execution for the Customer Portal, including test strategy, test plans, test evidence, and release readiness.
Design, implement, and maintain an API and integration test suite for Salesforce and SAP-related flows (contracts, payload validation, negative scenarios, and error handling).
Build and maintain a lightweight E2E UI smoke suite for critical portal journeys (login, search, cart, checkout, order confirmation, order and shipping tracking).
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD workflows, producing actionable reports and supporting quality gates for deployments.
Validate end-to-end scenarios across environments, support UAT cycles, and ensure defects are clearly documented, reproducible, and prioritized.
Collaborate closely with developers to improve testability, observability, and defect prevention (logging, correlation IDs, predictable error messages).
Manage test data and environment readiness (seed data, stable test accounts, data refresh coordination) to keep regression runs reliable.
Drive continuous improvement of QA practices, reducing flaky tests and improving coverage of critical business flows.
Participate in discovery and refinement of new features, contributing with testability reviews, risk assessment, clear acceptance criteria, and a fit-for-purpose test approach (API vs UI, data and environment needs).
Experience:
3+ years of hands-on experience in Software QA, with strong focus on test automation for web applications and APIs.
Proven experience designing and executing API test automation (e.g., Postman/Newman or similar), including assertions, environments, variables, and reporting.
Hands-on experience with UI test automation (Playwright or Cypress or similar), building stable smoke/regression tests for critical user journeys.
Experience validating integration flows and troubleshooting issues using logs, payload inspection, and correlation identifiers (where available).
Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows (running automated test suites in pipelines such as GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps/Jenkins and interpreting results).
Experience supporting UAT and release readiness activities (test evidence, defect triage, risk-based testing).
Experience managing test data and test environments to keep regression runs reliable (seed data, test accounts, environment readiness).
Solid test design and documentation: risk-based testing, clear acceptance criteria, negative testing, and test evidence.
Strong troubleshooting across UI, APIs, and integrations (logs, payloads, root-cause support).
Hands-on API testing and automation (HTTP fundamentals, auth concepts, contract/payload validation).
UI automation best practices for stable smoke/regression tests and low flakiness.
CI/CD and Git fluency: running automated suites in pipelines, interpreting results, and collaborating via PR/MR.
Comfortable working in Agile teams and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
