Job Description
You will be responsible for supporting the Global tax function to ensure it meets Corporate and Divisional objectives in co-ordination with the Corporate Tax Department in the USA. Overview BSC Tax Team located in Poznan. Ensure timely Tax Compliance reporting. Responsible for team development and KPI reporting. Enable innovation and digitalization in Tax compliance within countries where O-I is present.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead BSC Compliance Tax Team.
- Develop Tax team and work on potential growth of Tax function in BSC.
- Ensure right level of employees’ competencies, knowledge and motivation as well as secure communication flow within BSC Tax Team and other Stakeholders.
- Oversee European Tax Compliance processes.
- Oversee introduction and monitoring of right KPIs to ensure efficiency and safety of processes.
- Oversee relationship and quality of work with 3rd Party providers (i.e. Accenture, EY, Deloitte)
- Lead/Participate in IT and direct and indirect tax related projects.
- Accountable for developing and maintaining Policies, Processes, & Procedures on Tax compliance Processes to ensure consistency of supporting procedures executed across all countries O-I is present.
- Provide back-up on compliance on Tax team’s activities.
- Accountable for appropriate set up on SAP of Indirect Taxes rates and system logic.
- Assume the role of In-House Compliance (focus on VAT and Custom Duties) point of contact vis-à-vis all countries where O-I is present as well as the Polish based European shared service center.
- Pro-actively supporting the business (especially Sales, Finance, logistics and SSC) in all compliance related matters: a strong personality that can make a balanced assessment of compliance requirements versus customer satisfaction.
- In conjunction with local Finance teams, ensure full compliance for group of companies with the relevant local CIT, VAT and TP laws and regulations.
- Provide support on implementing tax strategies in close collaboration with the corporate tax department: especially VAT-impacts of Tax efficient Supply Chain reorganizations.
- Lead the local taxation procedures, cash tax payments and timely and correct filing of Compliance (focus on VAT returns, ESL and Intrastat)
- Ensure the refund of input VAT and optimize VAT related cash-flows.
- Ensure implementation of proper processes to optimize SOX-controls.
- Manage and provide support on European-wide CIT, VAT and TP audits to minimize any potential tax assessments by local authorities.
- Educate and train various internal stakeholders involved in CIT/TP and VAT related processes and create awareness and sensitivity for all related issues.
You will also:
- Conduct the business in an ethical manner and inform the supervisor of any actual or potential conflict of interest.
- Perform the tasks in accordance with the laws, regulation and company policies.
- Support the external and internal audit teams and deliver the requested records and documentation for the testing.
- Ensure the proper retention of records.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business or Economics
- Advanced proficiency in both written and spoken English
- A minimum of five to seven years tax experience in a public accounting firm, law firm or a multinational enterprise with a strong focus on indirect tax
- Proved successful experience in a People Management role
- Working in IFRS and/or US GAAP environment is an asset
- Overall tax knowledge
- Strong knowledge of ERP system (preferably SAP)
