Job Description

Purpose of the Role

This is a senior client facing role, with responsibility for delivery of accounting, financial reporting and regulatory compliance for a portfolio of asset finance and structured finance special purpose vehicles (SPV’s).

Ensuring proactive and high-quality client service levels, adherence to regulatory requirements through operational efficiency in a controlled and scalable environment.

Main Responsibilities

Responsibility for effective management of the client accounting delivery process to include:

  • Delivery of annual financial statements and, where required, management accounts of the client entities as maintained in accordance with relevant accounting standards, and ensure compliance with statutory deadlines or documented covenants
  • Liaising with audit firms to plan and schedule delivery of audited statements in line with client and statutory requirements
  • Work with Client Directors on new business opportunities including client calls and preparation of fee quotes
  • Ensure proper allocation and appointment of tasks to team members with the appropriate skills and experience
  • Ensuring timely filing of applicable tax returns
  • Assist the team with the production of Section 110, FVC filings and iXBRL filings (where applicable) in a timely manner
  • Identify ongoing training needs and opportunities within the team
  • Provide on the job training and technical guidance to the team
  • Co-ordinate with the Company Secretarial teams to ensure the timely filing of annual financial statements and assist the orderly wind down of entities
  • Identify opportunities to enhance and develop the service provided by the client accounting team
  • Report to the local Managing Director on the activities of the team including the progress of the status of financial statements productions
  • To take responsibility for or an active role in, any additional projects that may be required by the business
  • Manage resources efficiently and effectively to achieve the objectives of the business.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • The post holder will hold an appropriate accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA/ACA).
  • Have at least 5 years post qualification experience in a similar environment.
  • Proven management experience and demonstrable leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of accounts preparation, accounting standards, and company administration as it relates to our client structures
  • Very strong technical ability.
  • Strong knowledge of structured finance and asset finance transactions
  • The ability to effectively manage and motivate staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A “hands-on” approach and solution driven attitude to problems.
  • Strong time management and organisation skills.
