Position Summary:
The Medical & Scientific Publications Manager/Associate is an integral part of the Medical team. S/he is accountable for executing the medical communication plan for products and pipeline assets, including operational and administrative support.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Content Development
- Support implementation of data dissemination plan for all programs via execution of the medical communication plan and incorporate strategic insights as relevant to medical
- Lead the execution of developing manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, and posters through collaboration with the medical communications team
- Collaborate with internal/external medical writers and/or vendors to draft, review, and edit medical and scientific content
- Provide support to internal/external authors and reviewers to track and facilitate content reviews, approvals, submissions, and other related activities as needed per ICJME guidelines
- Maintain the scientific communications platform
- Assist in the development of additional content for external audiences such as field medical, advisory boards, FAQs
Medical Review Committee (MRC)
- Shepherd medical materials through the review and approval process
- Coordinate and participate in MRC meetings to resolve comments and questions
- Manage reviewer timelines with close attention to deadlines, understanding sensitivities related to detail and timeline of information dissemination
- Create and maintain project status and projected timelines for medical and scientific materials
- Organize and maintain internal document and information repository with citations and references
Knowledge Management
- Develop broad and in-depth knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacotherapy, and clinical outcomes associated with products and relevant disease states
Qualification Requirements:
- Master’s degree in biology or higher in Pharmaceutical Science or a related field
- 1+ years in medical communications within biotech/pharma industry (in ophthalmology research preferred)
- 1+ years’ experience in Medical or related fields like medical device, biotech, pharma
- Project management, Word, Excel and Power Point knowledge
- Experience with Veeva Vault preferred but not required
- Ability to learn applications quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including meticulous proofreading)
- Team-oriented, flexible, creative, inquisitive, driven and extremely reliable
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to work with and collaborate will all levels and groups
- Ability to travel 15%
Salary Range
$155,000—$165,000 USD
