Founded in 2009, we develop GPS mapping apps for people who love the outdoors. Our tools, data, and insights help users understand landscapes and explore with confidence. Our products—onX Hunt, onX Offroad, onX Backcountry, and onX Fish—all include accurate land ownership maps that work offline. These apps support activities like mountain biking, off-roading, hunting (for big game, whitetail, turkey, and upland birds), backpacking, backcountry skiing, fishing, snowmobiling, and rock climbing. Our features include over 170,000 miles of trail data, turn-by-turn navigation in onX Offroad, and hunting-specific tools like migration patterns and terrain analysis. We also provide simplified backpacking navigation, fishing data for identifying species and lake characteristics, and avalanche forecasts and slope angle tools for winter sports in onX Backcountry, which also integrates Mountain Project data for climbing. We specialize in mobile applications, mapping, geospatial technology, digital navigation, and B2C SaaS. Our apps are built in Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android, and our data science operations run on Google Cloud Platform. We’re also committed to land access. We clean up trails, rebuild pathways, and work to expand public land access, partnering with non-profits and advocating for conservation policies.
