About the Role:
We are looking for a UX/UI Designer with strong Shopify experience to collaborate on an on-demand basis across multiple e-commerce projects. This role is ideal for a designer who understands how to balance aesthetic quality with conversion-focused design and who is comfortable working closely with developers, product leads, and e-commerce stakeholders.
You will be involved in improving user experience, optimizing conversion paths, and designing scalable Shopify experiences that align with business goals. This position is not full-time by default; instead, you will be engaged as projects arise, making it a great fit for designers who enjoy variety, flexibility, and working with different brands and challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design conversion-focused UX/UI for Shopify stores and landing pages
- Create and iterate on wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity UI designs
- Collaborate closely with Shopify developers to ensure design feasibility and quality execution
- Apply UX best practices to improve navigation, checkout flows, and overall usability
- Support CRO initiatives, including A/B tests and design optimizations
- Ensure designs are responsive and optimized for mobile and desktop
- Maintain consistency with brand guidelines and design systems when applicable
Must-Have:
- Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer for e-commerce (Shopify)
- Strong understanding of UX principles, CRO, and user-centered design
- Hands-on experience designing Shopify themes, templates, or custom sections
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma (or similar)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with developers and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present design decisions clearly
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in agency or consulting environments
- Familiarity with Shopify Plus
- Knowledge of tools like Hotjar, GA4, A/B testing platforms
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for better dev collaboration
- Experience designing for subscription or high-traffic e-commerce stores
