About the Team

At OpenSesame, the Exclusive Content team works with publishers, subject matter experts, and internal staff to bring courses to life in our catalog. The courses OpenSesame offers trains millions of workers around the world every year,  in dozens of languages. Our impact on them and their companies depends on our work. We use human-driven AI processes to work more efficiently and to produce excellent training content while ensuring quality through human guidance and review. We collaborate with global publishers bringing thousands of courses to our catalog. No two projects are exactly alike, making this a collaborative team where you’ll have the opportunity to solve problems, improve workflows, and shape how AI and human expertise work together to expand access to impactful workplace learning.

About the Job

We are seeking an eLearning Production Specialist who works with the Exclusive Content Team to publish courses using OpenSesame’s eLearning authoring tool, Simon. You will support the production of courses at every stage using tools like Google Sheets, Docs and Drive, 3rd party web services, AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude, our Simon authoring platform, Slack, and Asana. In this role, you’ll apply your keen attention to detail by creating spreadsheets, organizing files and assets across projects and teams, working on multiple projects with different workflows, and always looking for ways to improve our processes. You’ll also partner with publishers by providing training to empower their course creation. We’re a small and flexible team, so your ability to jump on copy-editing tasks, review videos and courses for quality, and write course content, including course descriptions and learning objectives, is highly valued. You’ll work collaboratively with other teams at OpenSesame.

Performance Objectives

30 Days: Learn the tools and processes of OpenSesame and the Exclusive Content team, while taking on fundamental tasks in our course production process.

  • Gain familiarity with our company-wide tools: Slack, Google Calendar, ADP, Zoom
  • Gain familiarity with Curation-specific tools: OpenSesame Catalog
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Exclusive Content tools: Asana (our project management system), Google Sheets, Google Docs, our file system for Google Drive, and how to use Simon to build training courses
  • Basic usage of our AI tools
  • Complete company-wide compliance training
  • Learn the roles and functions of Exclusive Content team members and our role in the company
  • Build and review voiceover narrations for 4 courses
  • Validate and publish 5 courses to the catalog
  • Prepare PDF files for publishing for 10 courses
  • Use our Simon tool to translate 10 courses
  • Create a list of 10 ways we can improve the onboarding experience for OpenSesame and the Exclusive Content Team
  • Deliver thoughtful daily emails with suggestions to improve our company onboarding.

60 Days: Expand on your expertise with the first 30-day tasks, and dive deeper into more involved tasks to improve the quality and increase the speed at which we publish courses.

  • Continue to improve skills from first 30 days
  • Learn the structure of our CSV-driven course publishing system using Google Sheets
  • Review and provide feedback on 10 courses
  • Apply fixes to 20 courses based on QA feedback
  • Provide video quality feedback on 10 videos from our vendors
  • Load content into Simon for publishing 100 courses
  • Create thumbnail images for 10 courses
  • Provide feedback for improvement to at least 3 processes

90 Days: Continue to flex your skills from the first 60 days, while gaining a deeper knowledge of how we work with publishers, QA video content, and load large amounts of courses into Simon. Show off your process improvement skills.

  • Learn the process for onboarding new publishers to the Simon platform
  • Provide feedback and areas for improvement on vendor-supplied videos for 10 courses
  • Use the Simon bulk-upload process to create 30 courses in Simon
  • Identify at least one process for optimization and, using AI, develop a recommendation for how to improve that process

Within 6 months: you’re fluent in all the basic tasks of your role, understand all of the different parts of the team’s production process, can identify inefficiencies in our processes, and contribute meaningfully to ways we can improve.

  • Onboard one new Simon publisher
  • Develop course metadata for 30 courses
  • Copy-edit course text for 20 courses
  • Routinely use CSV files for bulk course creation in Simon
  • Consistently meet task and project deadlines and collaborate with our project manager to identify opportunities to pull work ahead
  • Identify one regular work task, and optimize it using AI, automation, or another method to complete the work in 10%+ less time

What Success Looks Like

  • Your teammates can count on you to jump in to help.
  • You’re curious about what we do and how we do it. You’re not afraid to ask questions and learn.
  • The Exclusive Team reliably produces many courses a year: on time and to high standards.
  • Our publishers trust your expertise, support, and customer-oriented focus.
  • You’re using AI as a helpful assistant to answer your questions and improve your productivity.
  • You’re happy tackling the tasks required for the team to succeed.
  • You’re even happier when you figure out ways to use AI and automations to handle the tedious details, while you use your human judgment to make sure the work is done well.

You might notice we don’t list a traditional set of requirements or buzzwords here. That’s intentional. We’re looking for proven examples from your career that show your attention to detail, your ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, your eagerness to learn and use new software systems, your drive to constantly improve, and your motivation to support your teammates.

Although it should go without saying (but it doesn’t), OpenSesame is an equal opportunity employer and we strive to create a welcoming, inclusive environment that celebrates diversity.

We use AI. For real. Every team at OpenSesame works with AI tools daily, not as a buzzword, but as practice. You’ll build fluency that most companies are still talking about adopting, with hands-on training and clear guardrails to experiment responsibly. AI amplifies your creativity and judgment. It doesn’t replace them. The skills you build here travel with you.
