We started in 2009 as a gas and electricity supplier, aiming to improve the customer experience in energy. We work in utilities, energy services, technology, renewable energy, and electric vehicles.

We also have OVO Solar & Heating, a corporate venture that provides solar and heat pump solutions across the UK.

We build and maintain our cloud platforms, mainly using Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Our Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) work to make our systems more reliable, performant, and cost-efficient, while also reducing our carbon footprint. Data Analysts help with MI design, data governance, and strategic support by creating dashboards and automating data pipelines. Our Principal Data Scientists lead projects and set technical direction, integrating data science into our products and decisions. Senior Machine Learning Engineers design, build, and maintain ML services, deploying models and integrating them across our teams to help us make better business choices.

Our mission is to provide clean, affordable energy for everyone and to help create a world without carbon. We are committed to addressing the climate crisis through our sustainability strategy, Plan Zero.

Through Plan Zero, we aim to be a net-zero carbon business and meet science-based carbon reduction targets by 2035. We also help our customers reduce their household emissions. The OVO Foundation, our climate-focused charity, supports this work by funding climate action and education projects for children across the UK. We are dedicated to building a sustainable future.

OVO has between 5,001 and 10,000 employees. We use a hybrid working model, with hub locations in Bristol, Glasgow, and London; some roles require coming into the office twice a week.
