About Pacific Fusion

We founded Pacific Fusion in 2023 to generate abundant, affordable, clean energy. We design and build pulsed magnetic fusion systems that aim for “net facility gain”—meaning they produce more fusion energy than the stored energy required to run them. We also develop the core components needed to make these fusion systems affordable.\n\nOur method, known as pulsed magnetic inertial fusion, uses a powerful magnetic field to rapidly squeeze a fuel container. This action heats and confines the fuel, fusing hydrogen into helium to release energy. This process builds on advances in inertial fusion performance and efficient electrical current pulse generation demonstrated by US National Laboratories in 2022.\n\nOur system is modular, built with common materials for easier manufacturing and quick iteration. It consists of three main parts: a fast electric pulser made from thousands of identical components, a small, meter-scale fusion chamber, and many centimeter-scale fuel containers. We operate in the renewable energy power generation industry and have raised over $900M.
