Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Data Governance to lead and scale PatientPoint’s enterprise-wide data governance program. In this strategic leadership role, you will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing our data governance strategy by ensuring the integrity, quality, and security of our organizational data assets. You will collaborate with various teams across the organization to establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures. This role combines strategic-thinking, project execution, and strong-relationship building to identify data-related issues, implement governance frameworks, and lead initiatives to improve data quality and management practices.
The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of data governance and data quality principles, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels of the organization. What You’ll Do
Team Leadership:
Evolve and manage PatientPoint’s data governance program, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and regulatory standards.
Lead the development and implementation of data governance policies, standards, and stewardship models.
Provide mentorship and direction to team members and contributors, fostering growth and consistency across data domains.
Partner with technology and business leaders to integrate governance into data lifecycle management, analytics, and reporting processes.
Champion data stewardship and advocate for data quality and accountability across the organization.
Data Strategy and Execution:
Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, policies, and processes.
Develop and execute data strategies that align with PatientPoint’s business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Help define and shape the data governance function at PatientPoint, influencing strategy, tooling, processes, and team structure.
Ensure the creation and update of data governance documents.
Implement and track adoption of data governance across critical data for the organization.
Partner with PatientPoint teams to establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across their departments.
Design and lead hands-on workshops, stakeholder interviews, and presentations to guide decision-making.
Monitor and report on the adoption and impact of data governance practices, including quality metrics, compliance audits, and remediation tracking.
Ensure sensitive data is classified appropriately and governed according to regulatory and organizational standards, including implementation of access controls, encryption, and anonymization where needed.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and optimization of data governance workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Business Impact:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and business units, to define data governance requirements, resolve data-related issues, and promote a culture of data stewardship.
Ensure business requirements are appropriately translated into technical specifications that clearly define the work and logic.
Present insights and recommendations to executives and other decision-makers.
Establish and track objectives and key results (OKRs) to evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives.
What We Need
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Governance, Data Management, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related fields, with a deep understanding of data governance principles, practices, and methodologies
4+ years of experience managing a team, consultants, and/or project management.
Proven success implementing or scaling data governance frameworks within a growing organization.
Technical Skills:
Deep understanding of data governance principles including stewardship, metadata management, data quality, and master data management.
Deep knowledge of data management concepts, including data quality, metadata management, and master data management.
Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and experience implementing data privacy and security controls.
Proficiency with data governance tools (e.g., Atlan, Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc.) is highly desirable.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence executive stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and recommend solutions to improve data quality and governance

Preferred Skills:
Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare) with a focus on data governance and compliance.
Familiarity with data management best practices, data modeling techniques, and data architecture principles.
