Why Work with Us?
At Pearl, we’re not just another recruiting firm—we connect you with exceptional opportunities to work alongside visionary US and EU founders. Our focus is on placing you in roles where you can grow, be challenged, and build long-term, meaningful careers.
About the Company
Our client is an early-stage company operating at the frontier of AI in healthcare, building systems that help organizations validate and prove that their AI behaves as intended. They work with diagnostic AI companies, hospitals, and AI vendors, where every customer relationship is high-touch and strategically significant. The company is pre-Series A, currently fundraising, and looking to scale operations and business development with dedicated support.
Role Overview
This is a hybrid research, strategy, and business development role working closely with the founder. You will transform complex market signals—regulatory filings, company intelligence, and industry developments—into actionable go-to-market strategies and a qualified pipeline. The work spans regulatory research (e.g., FDA 510k submissions), competitive intelligence, high-touch LinkedIn outreach, and producing structured research documents that the founder uses in customer meetings.
You will be an analytical and strategic extension of the founder, testing hypotheses in the real world, closing feedback loops between research and execution, and contributing directly to growth. Over time, the role may expand to more client-facing responsibilities as trust and capability increase.
Your Impact
Within the first 2–3 months, you will:
- Build a qualified diagnostic company pipeline — 50+ companies with strategic context, regulatory status, and outreach approach in a CRM.
- Produce regulatory deep dives — analyses of FDA guidance, EU AI Act, and specific filings to identify actionable opportunities.
- Map the competitive landscape — structured competitor maps to sharpen positioning and uncover whitespace.
- Draft go-to-market strategy — strategic narratives grounded in research to guide acquisition and investor conversations.
- Complete market size analysis — quantitative, evidence-based assessment of the addressable market.
1–2 years success measures: major strategy decisions, customer wins, and market moves are traceable to your research and recommendations.
Core Responsibilities
Company Research & Intelligence — 35%
- Conduct deep-dive research on target companies using regulatory filings, product details, and market context.
- Build a three-pronged intelligence framework: regulatory, business, and scientific angles.
- Use AI tools (Claude / Claude Code) to accelerate research while verifying outputs.
- Produce intelligence packages forming the foundation for outreach strategy.
Strategy Development & Synthesis — 25%
- Translate research into GTM strategy proposals with clear positioning rationale.
- Build and test strategic hypotheses within defined cycles (1–2 weeks).
- Produce decision-ready documents: competitor maps, market analyses, GTM outlines, regulatory deep dives.
- Integrate real-world feedback into strategy iterations.
Pipeline Building & CRM Management — 20%
- Identify and qualify diagnostic AI companies, hospitals, and AI vendors as pipeline targets.
- Build and maintain the CRM (currently Google Sheets; potential upgrade to dedicated platform).
- Source and curate VC lists aligned with investment thesis.
Targeted Outreach Execution — 15%
- Execute high-touch outreach via LinkedIn and email using research-backed approaches.
- Test strategic hypotheses with prospects through real conversations.
- Document market feedback and refine outreach strategies.
Output Production & Reporting — 5%
- Package research and strategy into structured deliverables (e.g., intelligence packages, deep dives).
- Prepare pre-meeting materials the founder can use directly in customer conversations.
Must-Haves
- Rigorous logical reasoning with dense regulatory/technical material (e.g., FDA 510k, EU AI Act).
- Proactive, hypothesis-driven experimentation — test assumptions in real-world scenarios.
- Strong synthesis skills — integrate feedback and translate insights into actionable strategy.
- AI-native critical evaluation — fluent with AI tools, verifying outputs and identifying uncertainties.
- Low ego / truth-seeking orientation — prioritize correct outcomes over being “right.”
- Clear and precise communication — articulate reasoning and decisions effectively.
- High initiative and independent thinking — identify flaws and propose better strategies collaboratively.
Nice-to-Haves
- Background in regulatory, compliance, safety, or evaluations (healthcare or AI preferred).
- Experience setting up and managing CRM systems, executing high-touch outreach campaigns.
- Familiarity with go-to-market frameworks.
- Market sizing and analysis experience.
- Exposure to evidence, validation, or evaluation-oriented companies (diagnostic AI, medtech, regtech).
Tools Proficiency

Perplexity or other AI research tools, CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, Notion), familiarity with FDA regulatory databases or EU AI Act documentation
