We started Pinecone in 2019 to build a vector database for AI applications at scale. Our technology lets you search billions of items for similar matches in milliseconds, working like a next-generation search API. We provide the infrastructure for AI applications, supporting uses like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), agents, instant Q&A across company knowledge, and recommendations.
Our platform is fully managed and serverless, offering rapid setup, automatic resource scaling, and consistent uptime. It supports hybrid search, combining sparse and dense embeddings for robust search. The system includes advanced retrieval capabilities for precise search across dynamic datasets.
