Developing and deploying utility-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computers using photonic qubits for real-world applications.

About PsiQuantum

We build and deploy useful, fault-tolerant quantum computers. Our goal is the world’s first commercially useful quantum computers, which we believe requires at least 1,000,000 qubits and error correction. Our approach uses photonics, leveraging silicon photonics and existing semiconductor manufacturing.

Our approach uses Omega, a quantum photonic chipset, and Blueprint, our plan for fault-tolerant quantum computers. We also research quantum computing applications and fundamental quantum theory. We design our Omega chipset, manufactured at GlobalFoundries’ facility in Malta, NY. For scaling, we use standard telecom optical fiber for networking, and photons are immune to heat and electromagnetic interference, allowing us to place control electronics alongside qubits.

We are building quantum computing infrastructure with the US and allied governments. We have facilities in Brisbane, Australia, for building quantum computers and a test lab; Chicago, Illinois, for our first US quantum computer at the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park (IQMP); Daresbury, UK, for R&D (using cryogenic infrastructure); Milpitas, CA, for manufacturing and assembly; Palo Alto, CA, as our headquarters for chip development; and SLAC in Menlo Park, CA, where we have a production cryogenic cabinet.

We partner with companies like Airbus and Lockheed Martin to develop quantum applications for aerospace and defense, including fluid mechanics algorithms.

Mission & Values

Our mission is to build and deploy useful, fault-tolerant quantum computers to solve humanity’s challenges. We aim for a commercially useful quantum computer: a fault-tolerant system with about one million qubits. Error correction is key to our work. We’re driven by solving real-world problems and creating practical impact. Our team focuses on advancing scalable quantum systems.

Team & Culture

PsiQuantum was founded in 2015. We have 501-1000 employees. Our team includes quantum physicists, semiconductor engineers, systems engineers, software engineers, and system architects. As a fast-paced startup, we value intellectual curiosity and cross-departmental collaboration. We’re focused on turning our vision into reality and ensuring our technology has a practical impact. We offer flexible work options—in-office, hybrid, or remote—depending on the team and location.

Benefits & Perks

Full-time employees are eligible for equity grants and comprehensive benefits. Our benefits include:

  • 401(k) with company match, plus financial wellness tools.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents.
  • Wellness programs, including a $200 quarterly health reimbursement and 12 therapy/6 coaching sessions through Modern Health.

We offer Discretionary Time Off (DTO) for full-time employees, federal holidays, and an end-of-year company shutdown. We also provide 12 weeks of paid parental leave, with a dedicated leave consultant. Flexible work options (in-office, hybrid, or remote) are available depending on the team and location.
