What will you be doing?

  • Leading a growing team of 6-8 engineers split across multiple pods

  • Cultivating an environment of continuous learning and collaboration

  • Optimising engineering processes and resourcing across the teams to optimise delivery

  • Collaborating with engineering leadership in setting team strategy and priorities

  • Reviewing technical architecture proposals and ensuring considerations have been made on cost, scalability, performance, resilience, testability, observability and maintainability

  • Improving knowledge sharing and collaboration, within and between teams, to remove roadblocks and keep teams performing well

  • Taking responsibility for planning, execution and success of complex projects

  • Driving a culture of cross-team learning, encouraging the team to present to the wider organisation on key learnings

What are we looking for?

  • Software Engineering background - this role is technically hands-on

  • Proven experience managing and developing team of full-stack engineers

  • Passion about people, with the ability to inspire, coach and mentor to help people perform at their best

  • Happy to dive into the detail - reviewing decisions with the team, bringing new ideas to the table, and challenging the team

  • Someone who enjoys talking tech, code reviews, and regularly providing technical feedback to the team

  • Ideally knowledge across mobile, frontend and backend in a modern ‘you build it, you own it’ environment

  • A track record of delivery in fast growth environments

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working in remote environments
