Job Description
Description
Enablement Coordinator & Release Train Engineer
Interim | Hybrid (Amsterdam-based, EU travel) | Full-time
Our client is undertaking a large-scale Identity and Access Management (IAM) transformation programme across multiple countries and business units. This is a complex, multi-team programme with a clear mandate from senior leadership and real security implications for the organisation.
About Riverflex
Riverflex was founded in Amsterdam and London in 2018, eventually growing into a global team of consultants united by a mission to help courageous leaders drive transformative change. Today, we offer an integrated service through three service pillars: strategy and transformation consulting that Creates Change, talent services that Build Teams, and business-accelerating products that Augment Intelligence. For more information, visit www.riverflex.com.
As Enablement Coordinator & Release Train Engineer, you will be the operational and tactical backbone of this programme. You bring structure where there is complexity, cadence where there is noise, and clarity where there is ambiguity. This is not a background coordination role; you will hold real ownership over how the Agile Release Train functions and how enablement teams across the Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic, and other locations stay aligned and moving.
You will work directly alongside the Senior Programme Manager, forming a two-person leadership layer: they own the strategy and executive stakeholder relationships; you own execution, cadence, and cross-team coordination. That means genuine seniority, genuine autonomy, and a clear seat at the table from day one.
Responsibilities
Enablement coordination
Act as the operational link between central IAM platform teams and regional enablement units across multiple countries
Own the definition, validation, and tracking of work packages and cross-team deliverables
Proactively identify and resolve cross-team and cross-regional dependencies before they become blockers
Track progress in Jira and Confluence; escalate risks and coordinate corrective actions as needed
Produce structured progress reports and milestone summaries to support data-driven steering decisions
Run weekly alignment meetings with enablement leads, and maintain local trackers on progress and impediments
Collaborate with the Transformation Management Office to embed consistent governance practices
Prepare decision-support materials for the Senior Programme Manager and programme governance boards
Release Train Engineer
Facilitate all ART-level SAFe ceremonies: PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, ART Syncs, and Inspect and Adapt workshops
Maintain cadence and synchronisation across all enablement and product teams throughout each programme increment
Remove impediments and manage risks at train level, coordinating with enablement leads and programme managers
Maintain a clear release calendar and roadmap aligned to IAM transformation milestones
Enable transparent reporting through Jira, Confluence, and Power BI dashboards
Mentor Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Enablement Coordinators to strengthen agile maturity across the train
Translate strategic objectives from IAM platform leadership into clearly scoped, executable increments for regional teams
Job requirements
5 or more years in programme coordination, project enablement, or Release Train Engineer roles within complex IT environments
Deep understanding of IAM principles including identity lifecycle management, RBAC, PAM, SSO, MFA, and certificate management
Proven hands-on experience in SAFe Agile environments; RTE certification (SAFe RTE, SPC, SA, or PO/PM) is strongly preferred
Familiarity with governance and compliance frameworks, including PMO/TMO structures and reporting requirements
Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Power BI, MS Project Planner, and Microsoft 365
Experience working in international, matrixed organisations with multiple stakeholder groups at different seniority levels
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, Business Administration, Organisational Change, or a related field
Fluency in both English and Dutch is required (written and verbal)
IAM or cybersecurity certifications such as CISM, CISSP, or SC-300 are a plus
EU work authorisation is required for this role
Why this role
This is a senior interim opportunity with a dual mandate: enablement governance and agile execution inside a strategically important IAM transformation. The programme has executive sponsorship, a clear scope, and teams across multiple countries that need strong coordination to deliver. You will have direct influence on the security infrastructure of a major European organisation, working with experienced professionals in a SAFe-governed environment.
The role is hybrid, based in or around Amsterdam, with occasional travel to other European locations. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, expertise, and certifications.
