We are a digital bank founded in 2014, with our main office in London and additional offices in Cardiff, Dublin, Manchester, and Southampton. We are a fully regulated digital bank, offering personal, business, joint, and Euro accounts.

Our accounts include features like Bills Manager, Spaces for savings, Split the Bill, and virtual cards. Customers manage their money through our app, access ²⁴⁄₇ UK-based customer support, and can use their cards abroad without foreign transaction or withdrawal fees.

We prioritize security with industry-leading app protection and FSCS coverage for deposits up to £120,000 for individual accounts and £240,000 for joint accounts. We have grown to serve over four million accounts.

Through our subsidiary, Engine by Starling, we also provide our banking technology platform as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) to other banks globally. Which? has recommended us, and we have been named Britain’s Best Banking Brand for seven years.

Our vision is to fix banking with fast technology, fair service, and honest values. Our mission is to solve customer problems and build the best bank, simplifying complex finance and avoiding selling unnecessary products. We prioritize sustainability by operating as a digital-first, branchless, and largely paperless bank. We were the first in the UK to launch Mastercard cards made from 95% recycled plastic and have funded the planting of 100,000 trees. We are a founding member of Tech Zero and do not invest in harmful industries.

We also emphasize financial equality, campaigning against stereotypes, using plain English, and promoting financial education. Founded by a woman, we aim for 50% women in Senior Management by 2027 and participate in the Women in Finance Charter and Women in Tech initiatives.

We offer 25 days of holiday, plus public holidays, and an extra day off for your birthday. Annual leave increases with length of service, and you can buy or sell up to five extra days. Employees can also swap public holidays for other dates and receive 16 hours of paid volunteering time per year.
