Syndax Pharmaceuticals is looking for a Contractor, Global Medical Strategy and Studies

The Role:
The Global Medical Affairs Strategy and Studies contractor will support the Global Medical Strategy team, gaining hands-on experience in how Medical Affairs executes Investigator Sponsored Trials (ISTs) and drives scientific and strategic planning at Syndax. Working closely with global cross-functional partners, the intern will be a contributor to the successful execution of research initiatives within Medical, interacting with internal stakeholders and external investigators and study staff to gain operations expertise. This role will be responsible for medical initiatives that support scientific alignment across programs. Key focus areas may include building study dashboards, supporting advisory boards, and assisting in the development of strategic medical deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating internal strategic deliverables, such as slide decks, scientific background materials, and planning documents, including contributing to components of Global Medical strategic plans.
- Serve as liaison between Syndax and external stakeholders, such as IST investigators and site staff, to foster collaboration and ensure high-quality execution.
- Manage protocol reviews, timelines, budgets, site and vendor relationships for assigned studies.
- Monitor study progress, provide regular updates to leadership, and proactively address operational challenges to ensure timely study activation and execution.
- Maintain tracking for IST metrics (e.g., contracts, activation timelines, enrollment, projected publication timelines, etc.).
- Participate in team meetings and provide regular project updates, contributing to discussions on progress, insights, and strategic implications.
Desired Experience/Education and Personal Attributes:
- Strong interest in Medical Affairs, oncology, and drug development.
- Ability to interpret and summarize scientific literature with clarity and accuracy.
- Analytical skillset with experience using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or other data visualization platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Genuine interest in clinical research and drug development.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills; enjoys interacting with others regularly.
- Able to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Willingness to travel (approx. 15%).
Location: While our corporate headquarters are located in New York City, this position is open to candidates from any location with a preference for east coast locations.
