Develops and distributes an open-source durable execution system for building fault-tolerant applications.

About Temporal Technologies

We develop and distribute an open-source durable execution system. Our system helps make code fault-tolerant, durable, and simpler to manage. It captures the state of code at every step, letting applications resume from where they left off after failures without manual recovery.

Our platform lets developers write business logic using native SDKs in various programming languages, creating Workflows that handle failures automatically. We also define Interactions as Activities, which retry and recover automatically. The Temporal Service saves application state and includes features like retries, task queues, signals, and timers. Customers can host the Temporal Service themselves or use Temporal Cloud.

Organizations like Datadog, Glovo, Indeed, Netflix, Qualtrics, Remitly, Snap, and Yum! Brands use our technology. It’s used for agents, AI pipelines, humans-in-the-loop workflows, compensating patterns (Saga), long-running workflows, order fulfillment, durable ledgers, CI/CD, customer acquisition, and Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs).

Samar Abbas (CEO) and Maxim Fateev (CTO) founded the company in 2019. They have backgrounds in distributed systems development at Amazon, Microsoft, and Uber, where they worked on projects like Amazon SQS, Amazon SWF, Azure Durable Task Framework, and Uber

’s Cadence. We have over 14,000 community members, serve 1,500 customers, and process 130 billion monthly actions.
