About The Believer Company
We started in 2023, with our headquarters in Los Angeles and developers worldwide. Our team has experience working on games like Words With Friends, League of Legends, Destiny, and PvZ.
We create new games and aim to build new intellectual properties. Our current project is a stylized, open-world, co-op game. We craft 3D characters, creatures, and rich environments for it.
Mission & Values
Our mission is to create games players love. We put players at the center of the games we make, the worlds we build, and how we run our business.
We want to provide immersive experiences that offer more than just gameplay—we want to build engaging worlds and communities. We value players’ time and engagement above all, measuring our success by their belief in what we do.
We foster a culture based on care, candor, accountability, and mentorship. We balance this with a strong drive for quality and performance.
Team & Culture
We are a globally distributed, remote-first studio with our headquarters in Los Angeles. We are committed to long-term remote work, providing the necessary hardware and software, and setting core hours to support work/life balance.
Our culture is care-led, emphasizing candor, accountability, and mentorship. We foster a collaborative environment where our art, design, animation, and engineering teams work closely.
Our team consists of experienced game creators who share a deep appreciation for games, often connecting over significant “Core Memories” of their favorite gaming experiences. We also provide mentorship for junior artists.
Benefits & Perks
We offer a robust benefits package to support our remote team. This includes competitive compensation with a mix of equity and base salary. Our North American cash compensation matches leading tech firms in urban hubs, without geotiering.
We cover 100% of health insurance premiums for employees and their dependents, including medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance.
We provide unlimited PTO and sick time, plus federal holidays, a 10-day Winter Break, and a “Take What You Need” PTO policy.
Our parental leave includes 20 weeks for non-birthing parents and 26 weeks for birthing parents (applicable to adoption and foster care), with an optional 8-week ramp-up period upon return.
We also offer $25,000 in lifetime support for family planning services like fertility, adoption, surrogacy, or foster care. A 401(k) retirement plan is available through Guideline.
For gamers, we provide an annual Games Fund to buy and play new games. We also regularly set aside work days to play new releases together.
