The Role
This role is to organize, develop and deliver high quality events for The Drum and our customers, whilst achieving financial targets and KPIs. To run and oversee all events in your portfolio, which could include festivals, awards, external client, and internal events.
A key part of this role is to help develop The Drum’s hybrid awards/festivals working with the event director and product head to take them to the next level. To come up with ideas and plan the processes for these events. To work with other members of the event production team and the wider company skills teams to deliver events and manage all event production aspects to look at ways we can achieve our goal to increase revenue, presence and reach in our target markets
With 19 awards, across UK, US and APAC, 6 annual content festivals, numerous white label events and exciting new opportunities for hybrid events in our Drum Labs venue.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for organising/attending a portfolio of Drum Awards from end to end of the event process to achieve the set financial targets and KPIs
Working with senior management on ways to develop The Drum events – awards/festivals/hybrid and in-person
Working with senior management on ways to increase our presence in the US and grow our business through events.
Putting in place procedures and plans for running new aspects of events e.g., improvements to judging process
Training and working with other members on the team to ensure new procedures are followed
Responsible for managing budgets for events to ensure they come in on target
Responsible for event production element of Drum festivals, client events and internal division events. This includes organising roundtables, webinars, panel sessions, co-ordinating speakers, co-ordinating content, requesting assets, booking in video producers, ensuring end product is to the highest standard.
Working with video production team to ensure the quality of the events is to the highest standard and always improving.
Working with Content Manager to recruit speakers/judges of the highest calibre and managing the relationships accordingly.
Working with marketing team to ensure the marketing of event is of the highest standard
Working with the platforms manager to ensure relevant platform have the correct functionality and content is up to date Network with guests, judges, speakers etc at in person events and represent the company in an appropriate manner.
Responsible for setting up and managing allocated projects through Asana.
To ensure that company processes/systems are followed (including Salesforce/Asana/slack) To be aware of activities across the business and ensure cross-working with other departments to assist both the events division and the other departments to achieve their goals.
Any other reasonable duties
At least 4-5 years event management/production experience
Can consistently meet and exceed KPi’s and targets
Have a strong understanding of the marcoms industry
Highly organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment to tight deadlines
Ability to come up with and present ideas of event development
Ability to strain others in event processes
Ability to multitask
Excellent time management
Be very organised and extremely accurate in tasks
Can cope with stressful situations and find solutions
Comfortable working with several internal teams/stakeholders
Ability to public speak/present
Highly personable
Excellent ability to build rapport
High level of customer service
Willingness to travel if required
An understanding of Asana project management tool, slack, salesforce prefeed although not essential
Literate in English – verbal and written
