The Good Food Institute

We are The Good Food Institute (GFI), a nonprofit think tank founded in 2016. Our goal is to improve the global food system for the planet, people, and animals.

We operate internationally, funded by philanthropy, to support alternative proteins. We believe these proteins are a key solution for addressing climate change, global health, food security, and biodiversity loss.

We work with scientists, businesses, and policymakers to make plant-based, fermentation-enabled, and cultivated meat delicious, affordable, and accessible. We also advocate for alternative proteins in investment portfolios to help new companies grow.

Our mission is to make the global food system better for the planet, people, and animals. We aim to advance alternative proteins as a crucial way to meet global climate, health, food security, and biodiversity goals.
