Who are we?
We are The Motley Fool, a purpose-driven financial services company with nearly 30 years of experience focused on making the world smarter, happier, and richer. What does that even mean?! It means we’re helping Fools (always with a capital “F”) demystify the world of finance, beat the stock market, and achieve personal wealth and happiness through our products and services.
The Motley Fool Australia launched in 2011, building on the foundation of our US-based parent company which was founded in 1993. We’re committed to helping investors of all levels improve their financial futures through accessible, actionable advice and investment recommendations.
What does this team do?
Our New Member Marketing team drives profitable growth by attracting and acquiring new members across multiple digital channels. We combine performance marketing, editorial, SEO, email, and analytics to deliver sustainable acquisition while maintaining a strong focus on customer trust and long-term value.
We are focused on measurable outcomes — improving conversion rates, strengthening analytics and tracking foundations, and ensuring marketing investments translate into meaningful business growth.
What will you do in this role?
As a contract Marketing Manager, you will operate as a strategic individual contributor focused on delivering measurable, project-based impact across acquisition, conversion, and lifecycle marketing. This role is outcomes-driven, with clear performance objectives tied to profitable growth and data integrity.
This is a remote role; however, candidates must be located in Australia for consideration.
Execute and optimise paid acquisition initiatives:
Plan, launch, and optimise paid campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, and emerging channels.
Manage targeting, creative and landing page briefs, budgets, bidding, pacing, and performance optimisation.
Implement structured testing across audiences, creative, offers, and funnel steps to improve CAC, ROAS, and LTV outcomes.
Enhance measurement and tracking infrastructure:
Define marketing tracking requirements in partnership with data and engineering teams across GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Segment.
Validate pixels, tags, and CAPI implementations prior to launch to ensure reliable attribution.
Develop and maintain reporting that connects marketing activity to business outcomes, surfacing actionable insights and identifying data inconsistencies.
Drive conversion rate optimisation (CRO) execution:
Execute against a prioritised experimentation roadmap across landing pages and key funnel steps.
Design, run, and analyse A/B tests with statistical discipline and clear learning objectives.
Collaborate cross-functionally to implement data-backed improvements efficiently and safely.
Support lifecycle marketing performance improvements:
Partner with email, editorial, and product stakeholders to improve lead nurturing, conversion, and upgrade performance.
Apply a measurement-first approach to ensure campaigns are attributable, optimised, and continuously improving.
Success in this role means delivering disciplined execution, trusted reporting, and measurable improvements in acquisition efficiency, funnel conversion rates, and lifecycle performance within a defined contract scope.
What do you need to apply?
5+ years of experience in performance marketing, growth marketing, or a similar role with hands-on ownership of paid acquisition campaigns.
Strong experience managing Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns across planning, execution, optimisation, and testing.
Proficiency with GA4 and Google Tag Manager, including validating tracking and briefing technical teams on instrumentation requirements.
Demonstrated ability to use data to drive decisions (cohort and funnel analysis, basic statistics, and translating insights into action).
Proven success improving conversion rates through structured experimentation and landing page optimisation.
Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with writers, designers, developers, data teams, and business stakeholders.
Comfort working in a small, entrepreneurial environment with a bias toward action and learning.
Nice to haves:
Experience in subscription, membership, or direct-response businesses (financial services experience is a plus).
Familiarity with Segment and event tracking taxonomies.
Understanding of server-side tagging concepts (CAPI, Enhanced Conversions).
Experience managing budgets, performance targets, and/or working with agencies.
Compensation:
Below is our target compensation range. While we are budget conscious, we’re also eager to find the right person for this role, so if your target is outside of this range, please don’t hesitate to apply and we’d be happy to have a conversation.
Hourly Pay Range
$60—$75 USD
