The Manager, IT at Thinkific will be responsible for building and leading our IT function as we scale, operating within the Shared Services department to manage access controls, administer shared systems and key business tools, oversee equipment, and execute our organization-wide security, technology  and compliance program. Above all, we’re looking for someone who excels at collaborating with business units to drive efficiency through technology, delighting internal customers through responsive support, accelerating projects through strong partnerships, and consistently making Thinkific a faster, smarter, more enjoyable place to work. The ideal candidate brings sharp business acumen, a proactive self-starter mindset, the ability to communicate complex topics to non-technical stakeholders, and the technical depth to implement solutions hands-on, while embracing AI and emerging technologies with genuine enthusiasm to transform how our organization operates.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner proactively with business units across Thinkific to identify opportunities where technology can drive greater efficiency, streamline workflows, and accelerate project delivery, turning business needs into high-impact solutions.
  • Oversee identity management and organizational SSO, collaborating closely with Information Security and Legal teams to maintain strong security and compliance processes, while conducting regular audits to protect data.
  • Spot, prioritize, and act on opportunities to improve, update, consolidate, and modernize our enterprise applications.
  • Lead cross-functional technology projects from strategy and roadmap development through end-to-end execution and successful delivery.
  • Guide departments and the Operations team in evaluating, selecting, and procuring the right tools to meet their needs.
  • Own the implementation and seamless integration of new tools and systems to support teams throughout the business.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies, best-practice guides, and targeted training programs to empower the organization.
  • Build and manage our company device management program, optimized for a distributed/remote workforce and designed with future international expansion in mind.
  • Handle IT aspects of employee onboarding and offboarding workflows in close partnership with People Operations.
  • Champion exceptional internal support experiences, delighting “customers” across the company through responsive, solution-oriented interactions.
  • Bring an AI-forward mindset to explore, pilot, and implement AI-powered tools, automation, and innovations that transform operations and make Thinkific faster, smarter, and more enjoyable every day.
  • Loves to learn and grow. They’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business

To be successful in this role, you likely:

  • Have 5+  years of experience owning a TechOps or IT function for a technology-focused company (ideally in a SaaS or startup environment)
  • Possess 3+ years of project management experience, specifically leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies operating on Mac, Windows, and Linux environments
  • Have previous experience with workspace and cloud security
  • Are well versed in identity and access management knowledge (SSO > Okta or Azure)
  • Can demonstrate excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, and network and systems administration
  • Communicate effectively and accurately, whether that’s via a Slack message, a phone call, or in your documentation of processes
  • Are organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to think critically and analytically
  • Consider yourself a self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-changing environment

You might be the person we’re looking for if you:

  • Are eager to learn and grow—you’ve likely had some post-secondary education or have equivalent professional experience in a similar role, and you continue to seek opportunities to level up your skillsHave experience administering Google Suite, HR tooling, CRMs (ideally Salesforce), and finance tech stacks
  • Possess ERP admin experience (working with systems such as Netsuite, SAP, or Workday)
  • Are familiar with SaaS companies and scaling startups—you’ve probably built systems and process from scratch and can be adaptable to change
  • Know your way around databases and data storage systems
  • Are able to be in office 3x a week

Bonus points if you:

  • Have MarTech stack experience or RevOps admin experience
  • Hold certification(s) as a Project Manager

We’re committed to fair and transparent pay that reflects both where you are and where you can grow to. This role has a salary range base of $130,000 - $155,000 - $180,000 designed to capture the full journey from developing skills to excelling in the position. Most new hires start between the minimum and midpoint, which aligns with being fully capable in the role. Salaries above the midpoint are typically reserved for team members who have demonstrated strong, consistent performance, deep expertise, and a significant positive impact within the role.

For high-demand or hard-to-fill positions like this one, we may hire above midpoint for candidates who bring exceptional experience, skills, or impact potential.
