Job Description
The AVP, FP&A serves as a key financial advisor and business partner to their assigned Business Unit, translating strategy and performance into financial insight. As the primary point of contact for the Business Unit Managing Director and their teams, the AVP will leverage detailed knowledge of their areas of responsibility to influence decision-making and ensure financial discipline .
Core Responsibilities
- Partner directly with BU leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans.
- Drive monthly performance analysis, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Translate operational results into clear financial narratives for senior management.
- Challenge and support the business to ensure alignment with financial targets.
- Collaborate closely with the central FP&A team on month-end close, submissions, and forecast cycles.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making and operational initiatives. Build and maintain robust financial models to support investment cases and scenario planning.
Qualifications
- Sufficient knowledge of basic accounting and financial analysis concepts
- Aptitude for relationship-building; Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong modelling and analytical capability; able to interpret and communicate complex financial data.
- Exposure to working with large datasets
- Attention to detail, ability to multitask, and being an agile and nimble contributor in a fast-paced environment.
- Keen to roll up sleeves and get stuck in – comfortable doing their own analysis as well as helping and supporting others to problem solve
- Have the capability to work unaided and “in the grey”
