We are a private, clinical-stage biotechnology company headquartered in San Diego, CA. We focus on developing a novel class of regulatory T cell-based products designed to cure autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

Our pipeline includes off-the-shelf allogeneic cell therapies, referred to as TRX cells. These engineered cells mimic the function of naturally occurring Type 1 regulatory T (Tr1) cells, to restore immune tolerance and stop severe autoimmune and inflammatory disease progression. We utilize genetic engineering and immunology expertise in our approach.

Our therapies are designed for targeted and localized immune suppression, producing suppressive cytokines within inflamed tissues while preserving healthy immune responses. The cells are engineered for high stability and low plasticity, and they migrate to sites of inflammation to modulate effector responses and drive the formation of new Tr1 cells. We are the first company to use an allogeneic engineered Tr1 cell therapy in clinical trials.

We are a team of 11-50 employees, including scientists, doctors, engineers, and builders. We were founded by industry experts, some of whom discovered Type 1 regulatory T (Tr1) cells. Our leadership team has broad experience in cell therapy, drawn from start-up companies, established public companies, and academia.
