Job Description

About the Role:

As Manager, Standards & Brand Safety - Content, you will administer Tubi’s content standards, parental ratings, and compliance requirements across original programming, acquired content, and children’s programming. You will help ensure content is appropriately reviewed, classified, tagged, and aligned with Tubi’s content policies and applicable regulatory and industry requirements.

As part of the Standards & Brand Safety team, you will partner with Content Acquisitions, Content Operations, Production, Product, Data Science, and Legal to implement clear and consistent content standards and ratings policies. You will support scalable operational workflows, technical solutions, and data-driven monitoring for content review, classification, automation, and compliance.

The ideal candidate has strong content standards experience, practical knowledge of children’s content and COPPA compliance, and a thorough understanding of content classification, parental rating systems, and regulatory requirements. They should be comfortable using reporting, AI-assisted review tools, and database environments to identify risk, investigate issues, improve operational processes, and support the evolution of Tubi’s content standards.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Los Angeles office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Implement and administer Tubi’s content standards and brand safety policies across original programming, acquired content, children’s programming, and other content experiences.
  • Review original and acquired content for compliance with Tubi’s content policies, parental rating standards, applicable laws and regulations, industry guidelines, and platform requirements, and provide recommendations regarding ratings, advisories, mitigations, or acquisition concerns as appropriate.
  • Partner with Content Acquisitions, Content Operations, Production, Product, Data Science, and Legal to address content standards and compliance issues throughout the content lifecycle.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource on content standards, parental ratings, children’s content, and brand safety, providing guidance within established policies and escalation frameworks.
  • Lead the day-to-day administration of Tubi’s children’s content program, including content review, child-directed content determinations, COPPA and CARU compliance, internal content tagging, and the operational implementation of children’s content policies.
  • Assign and review parental ratings and content advisories for original programming, ensuring consistent application of established rating methodologies and content standards.
  • Leverage reporting dashboards, database environments, AI-assisted review tools, and internal systems to identify trends, improve review quality, monitor policy implementation, and support scalable content review and classification workflows.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Content Operations to improve content standards tooling, automation, metadata, taxonomy, and operational workflows that enable consistent policy enforcement at scale.
  • Document and communicate policy decisions, provide implementation guidance to cross-functional stakeholders, and escalate emerging policy questions or content risks requiring additional legal, regulatory, operational, or product review.
  • Identify operational challenges and policy implementation gaps and recommend improvements to content review, parental ratings, children’s content operations, automation, and supporting guidance.
  • Monitor developments in streaming, AI, content moderation, parental ratings, children’s media regulation, and industry best practices, including competitive analyses of how leading streaming platforms manage content standards and child safety.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in content standards, Standards & Practices, Trust & Safety, content policy, or content compliance at a streaming, entertainment, media, or technology company.
  • 2+ years of experience reviewing and classifying children’s content, with demonstrated expertise in child-directed content determinations.
  • Strong understanding of content standards, parental ratings, content advisories, and regulatory considerations across original and acquired programming.
  • Deep knowledge of children’s media regulations and industry guidelines, including COPPA, CARU, FTC guidance, and child-directed content requirements.
  • Experience applying domestic content rating systems and content classification frameworks; familiarity with international content rating systems and classification standards is a plus.
  • Experience reviewing a broad range of scripted, unscripted, documentary, reality, animation, children’s, and other video programming for compliance with platform policies and applicable standards.
  • Experience using reporting, business intelligence, database, or workflow tools to investigate issues, identify trends, and improve operations with a willingness to learn Databricks, SQL, dashboards, or similar platforms.
  • Practical understanding of AI-assisted content review, moderation, classification, taxonomy, or workflow automation tools and their quality assurance considerations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain policy, legal, operational, and technical issues to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical skills, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter capable of managing work independently while appropriately escalating legal, reputational, operational, or policy risks.
