Sales Account Manager – Scotland (National Travel)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales Account Manager to join a well-established and growing business, managing a large and varied portfolio of customers across Scotland.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded individual who thrives on building long-term relationships, enjoys being on the road and is confident managing a high volume of accounts with differing spend levels.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing and developing multiple accounts, working closely with customers to maximise sales opportunities and strengthen long-term partnerships. Spend per account will typically range from £1k–£10k, so you’ll need to be comfortable tailoring your approach to suit both smaller and higher-value clients.
This is a hybrid role, combining account management tasks with regular face-to-face client visits. National travel across Scotland is essential.
Your Customers
You’ll be working predominantly within the retail sector, supplying customers such as: Garden centres / Farm shops / Gift shops. There will also be scope to develop opportunities within the hotel and hospitality sector.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow a large portfolio of existing customer accounts
Build strong, long-term relationships through regular contact and site visits
Identify and develop new sales opportunities within existing accounts
Conduct face-to-face meetings to understand customer needs and present tailored solutions
Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
Prepare and deliver sales proposals and presentations
Maintain accurate CRM records and manage your sales pipeline effectively
Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
Work closely with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer service
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in sales or account management, ideally within retail environments
- Experience in the food industry highly desirable
- Demonstrable experience managing multiple accounts simultaneously
- Confident handling a wide range of account values and customer types
- Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Target-driven and self-motivated, with excellent time management
- Comfortable with national travel across Scotland
- Full UK driving licence essential
