The Role
As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a Legal Counsel to join our legal team in New York. This is a commercially focused, in-house role where you will act as a key legal partner to the business, supporting project delivery teams and advising on complex contractual and risk-related matters.
You will play a critical role in negotiating and structuring project agreements, managing legal risk, and enabling the successful delivery of construction and design & build projects across the U.S. This position offers strong exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence decision-making in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of project contracts, including design & build, construction, and consultancy agreements
- Provide legal advice on contract strategy, risk allocation, and commercial terms across projects
- Partner closely with project delivery and commercial teams to support project execution
- Advise on dispute avoidance and resolution, including claims and contractual matters
- Support the business across construction, real estate, and broader commercial legal matters
- Develop and improve contract templates, playbooks, and internal legal processes
- Proactively identify and manage legal and commercial risk across the project lifecycle
Requirements
Qualified Attorney with admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility)
Experience in construction, design & build, real estate, or complex commercial contracts
Strong contract drafting and negotiation experience, particularly within project-based environments
Commercially minded with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
Ability to work closely with non-legal stakeholders in a fast-paced, delivery-focused business
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location
Base Pay Range
$170,000—$200,000 USD
