We are seeking a highly capable administrator to support the University of Auckland’s doctoral enrolment processes, contributing to a seamless and efficient experience for doctoral researchers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating doctoral enrolment processes and supporting applicants from around the world
  • Supporting doctoral programme entry within a newly established role during a period of organisational change
  • Working as a part of Student and Scholarly Services (SaSS) situated within the School of Graduate Studies
  • Delivering accurate, high volume enrolment processing and managing associated data and documentation
  • Providing professional, customer-focused service
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of systems and processes

This is a fixed term, full-time position for 12 months, working 37.5 hours per week.

The salary range for this role is Band D: $56,400 – $71,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

The position is based on 24 Princes Street, Alfred Nathan House, Auckland (City Campus).

This role offers hybrid working arrangements, to be agreed with the reporting manager.  Following completion of the initial training period, the role is expected to operate on a hybrid basis, typically comprising four days on campus and one day working remotely.

We are seeking a candidate who is available to commence at the earliest opportunity.

This is a newly created position established to support service delivery during a period of organisational review. The role sits within Student and Scholarly Services (SaSS), is embedded within the School of Graduate Studies, and reports to the Lead Doctoral Services and Experience.  It offers a unique opportunity to operate across both centralised and faculty-facing functions.

Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team

Te Kahu Tauira | Student and Scholarly Services (SaSS) brings together student experience, wellbeing, academic services, and operations to deliver integrated, student-centred services that support learner success, engagement, and belonging.

In this role, you will be based within the School of Graduate Studies, a key partner in supporting doctoral candidates.  You’ll collaborate with Advisory teams, faculties, and internal stakeholders to ensure a high quality, consistent enrolment experience.

He kōrero mōu | About you

You are an experienced, detail-oriented administrator with a strong background in university admissions and coordination.  You thrive in a structured, process driven environment and take pride in delivering accurate, high-volume work.

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (as outlined in the position description)
  • Extensive experience in university administration, admissions, or programme coordination
  • Strong data entry capability, including entering programme information and working across multiple systems
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to manage enquiries and workflows
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work
  • The ability to work autonomously while collaborating closely with the Advisory team and wider stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of policies, regulations, and processes, with the ability to confidently apply these in administering tasks and making decisions
  • A task focused mindset, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage high volume, process driven work
