About Epilepsy Foundation

We support individuals with epilepsy and their families, offering case management through all stages of care—from screening and assessment to planning, coordinating with facilities and physicians, follow-up, and transitional care. Our Epilepsy and Seizures Helpline provides information and referrals to a diverse audience, and we educate clients, consumers, and the broader community about epilepsy.

Our internship program gives students and early-career professionals nonprofit experience across seven tracks, contributing to epilepsy community projects.

We also manage employee benefit and leave programs, ensuring compliance with regulations such as ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, Section 125, and FMLA. These programs include health, dental, vision, life, disability, wellness, and 401(k) retirement plans, alongside administering leave, workers’ compensation, and unemployment claims.

Our HR functions support compliance with employment laws, managing staffing changes, onboarding, offboarding, record-keeping, and HRIS entry, including payroll-related changes in ADP. We coordinate regional programs to support our mission and provide information.

Team & Culture

Our work environment is collaborative and purpose-driven, especially within our internship programs. We expect employees to use independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize their diverse workloads. Team members collaborate with national office staff and local teams.

Many roles require strong organizational and analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and discretion in handling confidential employee information. We support remote and hybrid work arrangements for various roles, with some positions operating during standard weekday office hours and offering travel and telework options.

Benefits & Perks

We offer intern-only events and professional development sessions.
