Our cloud-based application, VALER®, automates health care revenue operations and enhances connectivity between health care insurers and providers. We are seeking a Sr. Data Integration Engineer to join our team and help streamline data flow and integration within our platform.

Responsible for:
- Designing, building, and maintaining data integrations with external services and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Developing and consuming RESTful APIs and webhook-based services.
- Working with healthcare data standards including HL7, X12, and FHIR.
- Implementing secure connectivity solutions (VPNs, site-to-site tunnels, IP whitelisting, certificates, etc.)
- Building and maintaining internal tools for monitoring, debugging, and replaying data events on integrations.
- Collaborating with product, clinical, and client teams to support real-world workflows.
- Troubleshooting production integration issues across network, API, and data layers.
- Creating technical documentation on data integrations and network configuration.

Must have:
- Prior experience with healthcare data standards: HL7 v2, X12 (275, 278), FHIR
- Prior experience working with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Athena, Allscripts, etc.) and healthcare integrations or interoperability platforms.
- Prior experience with secure networking (VPNs, site-to-site tunnels, IP whitelisting, certificates, etc.)
- 6+ years of development work on Linux platforms
- 6+ years of data communication protocol and interface development (REST)
- 6+ years of development with Python or equivalent experience
- Enthusiasm for working directly with VALER users and the patient population they serve
- Desire to work in fast-paced, ever evolving environment
Ideal candidate will be:
- Someone who has built real healthcare data systems in production.
- Can take customer requirements and turn them into working software.
- Understand how to investigate problems across API + network + data layers.
- Team player
Candidates must be in the Los Angeles or Orange County area of Southern California. The position is currently remote, but with plans to transition to Hybrid.

Salary commensurate with experience starting in the 130,000-$184,000 range. Final compensation may vary and will be determined during the interview process.
