Luma Health

We founded Luma Health in 2015 to create an AI-native Patient Success Platform. Our goal is to unify and automate patient journeys for large health systems, regional hospitals, and specialty practices. This helps patients access care more easily and reduces manual work for staff.

Our platform offers a range of tools, including patient outreach for referrals, orders, and recalls. Patients can schedule appointments from various sources like Google, websites, AI-enabled voice, or SMS. We also manage automated patient waitlists, send reminders (SMS, RCS, voice), and provide broadcast or group messaging, along with a chatbot and AI concierge. Other features include feedback and reputation management, intake forms, insurance and eligibility checks, and patient payments.

We use AI technology, called Spark, across our platform. This includes NLP and AI-assisted translation for over 30 languages, TensorFlow models and LLMs to understand patient needs, and GenAI for fax classification and patient self-service. We also use machine learning and rules-based systems to manage communication and guide next steps. Our platform integrates with EHR, RCM, payments, CRM, telehealth, and call center solutions. We serve over 650 healthcare organizations in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. On average, our platform helps patients get care 61 days sooner, reduces manual calls by 2–3 hours daily, and increases revenue by 47%. By January 2020, we had served 10 million patients, and by April 2021, we helped administer 3 million COVID-19 vaccinations.

Our mission began with a desire to simplify patient access to healthcare, stemming from our founders’ personal experiences navigating the system. We believe that while needing healthcare is often difficult, getting care should be easy.
