Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Interview tech leads and analyze technical project documentation to identify eligible R&D activities and qualifying expenditure.
  • Editorial duties to ensure that our drafts are clear, concise, and technically accurate R&D reports and supporting documentation for submission
  • Provide strategic advice on maximizing R&D tax incentives by leveraging your extensive technical background.
  • Liaise directly with internal and external stakeholders (including finance, and technical teams) to gather technical and financial information required for robust R&D claims.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technologists and/or R&D Consultants, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in R&D tax legislation and best practice and communicate these to internal teams.
  • Lead and manage the preparation and submission of R&D tax credit claims for clients in the UK and Ireland. Cooperation with our R&D partners is required to achieve the desired results.
  • Support business development activities and M&A.
  • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality service.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (tax, audit, advisory) to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Ensure all files and documentation are maintained in accordance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to internal process improvement initiatives, including automation and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate and lead regular team meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development activities.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical writing and analytical skills, familiarity with low level design documentation is required.

  • Strong understanding of technical architecture and ability to bridge technical and business requirements effectively.

  • Architect and is ready to transition into a technical R&D consulting role.

  • Prior Experience: Proven experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI-based data models is Desirable.”

  • 8–12 years’ of experience in engineering, preferably in R&D or innovation-focused environments including data, cloud or application development.

  • Experience working with or for professional services firms (e.g., BDO, EY, Deloitte, PWC, KPMG, or similar).

  • Business-level English proficiency, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams of technologists or R&D Consultants.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience managing client relationships.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence of ongoing training/learning, as required by professional associations. Training focused on AI is advantageous.

  • Experience with process automation, data analysis, or workflow tools (e.g., Power BI, ServiceNow, or similar) is desirable but not essential.
