The Digital Analytics Specialist will lead the implementation, governance, and continuous optimization of Viamericas’ digital analytics ecosystem. This role is responsible for designing and operationalizing the frameworks that enable full-funnel visibility across digital products and internal applications used by Viamericas agencies for remittance transactions.
The specialist will define and enforce best practices for Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and BigQuery integrations, ensuring accurate event instrumentation and data quality that supports decision-making and conversion optimization. This role combines technical implementation expertise with analytical and strategic thinking to transform raw behavioral and transactional data into actionable insights that drive product performance, customer engagement, and business growth.
Duties and responsibilities
- Governance & Implementation
- Design and maintain the digital analytics governance model for GA4, GTM, and related tools, ensuring alignment with organizational data and privacy standards.
- Lead the implementation of event-tracking plans across all digital assets, including Viamericas.com, mobile products, and internal applications (e.g., agency transaction portals).
- Collaborate with Digital Product, Development, and Data Engineering teams to ensure consistent tagging, dataLayer design, and tracking fidelity across platforms.
- Oversee the integration between GA4 and BigQuery to enable advanced behavioral analysis and attribution modeling.
Measurement Strategy & Analysis
- Define and maintain KPIs and conversion funnels for digital experiences and campaigns.
- Propose and define dashboards and analytical frameworks that translate digital behavior into actionable business insights, to be developed in collaboration with the Data Visualization team.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Marketing to define event taxonomies and ensure accurate conversion tracking from awareness to remittance completion.
- Support experimentation (A/B testing, personalization) through reliable measurement frameworks.
Data Quality & Optimization
- Conduct QA and debugging of GTM and GA4 implementations using Tag Assistant, DebugView, and BigQuery validation queries.
- Monitor data discrepancies, ensuring event-level accuracy and alignment with backend systems.
- Lead the documentation of instrumentation logic, event schemas, and error-code mapping (e.g., gateway response normalization for Fiserv integrations).
- Continuously propose improvements to enhance conversion tracking, attribution models, and user journey analysis.
Collaboration & Enablement
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Development, Marketing, Digital Products, and Data & A.I.) to align tracking design with business objectives.
- Train internal stakeholders on interpreting analytics reports and KPIs.
- Act as the internal evangelist for data-driven decision-making, promoting analytical literacy across digital teams.
Requirements and Skills
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing Analytics, or related field.
- Certifications in GA4 and GTM (preferred).
- Advanced training or coursework in digital analytics, data visualization, or marketing technology is a plus.
Experience & Technical Skills
- Proven experience implementing and managing GA4 and GTM in large-scale digital environments.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architecture, dataLayer design, and cross-domain tracking.
- Proficiency in SQL and BigQuery for advanced data validation and analysis.
- Experience integrating analytics with marketing automation and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar).
- Solid experience in software development and change management, ensuring that new and existing applications are built to generate and capture data according to digital analytics standards and governance guidelines.
- Understanding of data privacy (GDPR, CCPA) and secure analytics practices.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines and collaboration with data engineering teams.
- Ability to translate technical tracking requirements into business insights and vice versa.
