Job Description

The Senior Manager, Payment Facilitator Partnerships is responsible for driving the development and expansion of Visa acceptance and strategic partnerships with Payment Facilitators (PayFacs) across the CISSEE sub‑region. The role leads PayFac engagement strategy, commercialization, and execution, working closely with acquiring banks and internal Visa teams to scale digital payments in line with market, regulatory, and compliance requirements. The position reports to the Senior Director, Head of CISSEE MSA.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Visas Payment Facilitator partnership strategy across CISSEE, defining market‑specific engagement models, value propositions, and execution plans aligned with regional priorities.
  • Drive acceptance growth and revenue by commercializing Visa digital products, payment solutions, cobrand programs, and value-added services through PayFac partners.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize market level PayFac opportunities, including evaluation of regulatory, compliance, and commercial readiness to support scalable launches.
  • Own senior level relationships with priority PayFac partners, negotiating and executing strategic partnership agreements, including commercial and revenue sharing frameworks.
  • Lead end-to-end account management for assigned strategic PayFacs, delivering structured growth plans, measurable outcomes, and ongoing performance optimization.
  • Coordinate and support PayFac onboarding and certification activities within MSA scope, ensuring effective alignment with acquiring banks and adherence to Visa rules.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to PayFac partners on licensing considerations, compliance, digital product adoption, go-to-market strategy, and cross-border expansion.
  • Collaborate with subregional teams and the Market Support Center to deliver consulting, enablement, and problem-solving support to PayFac partners.
  • Represent Visa as a subject matter expert at industry events, client meetings, and external forums, strengthening Visa’s position in the PayFac ecosystem.  Contribute to broader CEMEA PayFac capability building through internal training, knowledge sharing, and participation in cross-market initiatives.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant professional experience in Payment Facilitators (Payfacs), Payment Service Providers, Third Party Agents, banks, fintech, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), or related ecosystems
  • Strong background in digital payments, eCommerce, and commercial business development, with proven success in pipeline management, deal negotiation, and revenue growth
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence senior level stakeholders and decisionmakers in international financial institutions
  • Proven track record of successful sales execution and long-term relationship management with Payfacs
  • Dynamic and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, operate with fast turnaround times, and work effectively across multiple time zones
  • Highly analytical, structured, and execution‑oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast‑paced environments
  • Fluency in English and Russian; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and GPT based AI tools
  • Hybrid working model: employees may alternate between remote and office work
  • Presence in the Almaty office is expected for 4 set days per week (as determined by leadership/site), with a general guideline for spending 50% or more of working time in the office based on business needs.
