The Finance team plays a crucial role in supporting the company’s growth objectives, from financial planning and analysis to risk management and compliance, we’re committed to driving efficiency and maximizing value across the organization.

As Chief Accounting & Tax Officer, you will lead this function end-to-end and act as a key partner to the CFO and other senior leaders.

šŸŽÆ Your Mission

As Chief Accounting & Tax Officer, you will be responsible for organising, steering, and securing all accounting and tax activities for the Group, while leading and developing a team of around 20 professionals.

Your mission spans four main pillars:

  1. Leadership & Organisation of the Accounting Function
    • Lead, structure, and mentor aĀ  teamĀ covering general accounting, technical insurance & reinsurance accounting, and tax
    • Act as theĀ guarantor of French GAAP accounting and quarterly/annual closingsĀ for all French entities.
    • OverseeĀ Group accounting, coordinating all quarterly and annual closings for theĀ Big Wakam GroupĀ under French GAAP, in close collaboration with FP&A, Technical, Risk, and Data Management teams.
    • Strengthen accounting processes and controls, particularly forĀ reinsurance recognition and monitoring.
  2. Statutory, Regulatory & Solvency II Reporting
    • Ensure the production ofĀ French GAAP statutory financial statementsĀ for French entities.
    • Oversee the preparation and quality ofĀ Solvency II regulatory reportingĀ for French entities, in line with regulatory expectations and Group timelines.
    • Responsible for the production of financial reportings as requested by various stakeholders
  3. Tax Management & Compliance
    • Ensure that allĀ tax returns (excluding payroll/social taxes)Ā are prepared and filed accurately and on time, across all territories where the Group operates.
    • Be theĀ guarantor of the reliabilityĀ of tax declarations (corporate income tax, VAT, insurance premium taxes such as TCA, etc.).
    • Implement and maintainĀ robust, optimised tax processes, aligned with Group governance and local regulations.
    • ConductĀ regulatory watchĀ on accounting and tax topics, coordinate communication to relevant teams, and driveĀ optimisation and risk mitigation initiatives.
    • Represent the Group in interactions withĀ auditors and tax authoritiesĀ during statutory audits and tax inspections.
  4. Transformation & Cross-Functional Projects
    • Play an active role in theĀ finance transformation roadmap, including majorĀ tool and system changesĀ (new general ledger, consolidation tools, reporting solutions, etc.).
    • Contribute your expertise toĀ cross-functional projectsĀ that impact financial statements and financial communication at both entity and Group level.

🧠 What You Bring

  • Extensive experience (15+ years)Ā in Accounting, Consolidation, and Tax, within anĀ insurance group or regulated financial institution.
  • Proven track record inĀ leading and structuring accounting teams, including at least several years in aĀ Head of Accounting / Chief Accounting / Tax leadershipĀ position.
  • Deep knowledge ofĀ French GAAPĀ and strong familiarity withĀ Solvency IIĀ reporting requirements.
  • Solid experience withĀ insurance and reinsurance technical accounting, including ceded business and related controls.
  • Strong expertise inĀ corporate taxationĀ (CIT, VAT, insurance premium taxes / TCA, etc.) andĀ tax process design.
  • Experience inĀ multi-entity, multi-country Group environments, ideally with consolidation exposure.
  • Demonstrated experience inĀ finance transformation projectsĀ (system change, process re‑design, automation, data quality initiatives).
  • Full professional proficiency inĀ French and EnglishĀ (spoken and written).
