We were founded in 2018. Our software helps utilities, automakers, EV charging companies, and electric vehicle (EV) owners manage vehicle charging. We use machine learning, optimization, and AI to integrate EVs into the electric grid. Our platform acts as a Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) for automated, localized energy dispatch.

Our software speeds up electrification by optimizing EV charging. Utilities use it to understand charging data, manage and shift charging to off-peak hours, and automate charging based on real-time grid conditions. For automakers and charging companies, our solutions turn EVs into grid-interactive vehicles. This allows them to work with utilities to get more value from EVs and give drivers a smooth charging experience. Drivers benefit by understanding charging costs, saving money, and charging at the best times, making sure their vehicles are always ready.

Our software solves key grid integration problems, helping create a clean, fair, and reliable energy system. We make the transition to EVs easier by improving the driver experience and lowering infrastructure costs, which keeps electricity rates down. Our technology connects data from vehicles and the electric grid, making EVs valuable assets for the grid. We also help integrate renewable energy by ensuring EVs charge when renewable sources are plentiful, connecting cleaner energy generation with transportation. Our customers include Atlantic City Electric, Alabama Power, Baltimore Gas & Electric, Delmarva Power, Dominion Energy, DTE, Georgia Power, LUMA, PEPCO, Pacific Gas & Electric, Portland General Electric, Salt River Project, Union Power Cooperative, Wake Electric Membership Corporation, and Xcel Energy.

Our vision is to quickly decarbonize transportation and electric networks by smartly connecting EVs to the grid. Our mission is to speed up electrification where transportation and energy meet. We do this by increasing EV adoption and improving the EV driver experience, all while keeping charging affordable. Our company was co-founded by CEO Apoorv Bhargava and President John Taggart. Apoorv has a background in climate and energy innovation from Opower and NRG, as well as experience in management consulting and venture capital. John is known for his expertise in electric vehicles, their emissions, and their impact on the grid, having previously worked at Tesla and Nissan Motors’ Futures Lab. Our team members bring experience from electric utilities, technology companies, automakers, research groups, and early software company teams. Our San Francisco office is in the Mission District.
