Job description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the company’s growth strategy in the A2P SMS and VoIP markets. The core focus is to build and scale strategic partnerships with international mobile network operators (MNOs), aggregators, CPaaS platforms, and OTTs. This role requires strategic thinking, a deep understanding of the global messaging and voice ecosystem, and the ability to influence both commercial and product direction within the company.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for A2P SMS and VoIP termination across global markets
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with MNOs, MVNOs, SMS hubs, CPaaS providers, and major OTT players
Own the full sales cycle — from lead generation to negotiation and contract closure
Strategically expand presence in high-value regions through routing relationships
Build and present detailed business cases for new client partnerships, including projected traffic volumes, revenue forecasts, and margin analysis
Take full ownership of business case execution, ensuring agreed KPIs and commercial outcomes are tracked and achieved
Monitor market trends, pricing, regulations, and messaging policies across countries and operators
Evaluate and optimize delivery routes, including direct-to-carrier, hybrid, and fallback routing models
Represent the company at global industry events
Provide feedback to product and operations teams to enhance competitiveness and client satisfaction
Work cross-functionally with legal, finance, and technical teams to support and execute deals
3+ years of experience in international telecom business development, sales, or partnerships — specifically within A2P SMS, VoIP, or CPaaS
In-depth understanding of the global telecom ecosystem: MNOs, aggregators, CPaaS vendors, monetization models, and operator filtering policies
Familiarity with A2P SMS delivery models: identify gray routes, firewalls, SIM-box detection, direct vs. hub-based routing
Proven experience negotiating interconnect agreements, termination rates, and revenue share models
Strong grasp of SMS and voice traffic monetization: pricing strategies, traffic types, routing logic
Demonstrated ability to structure and defend business cases, including financial modelling and ROI analysis
Track record of executing against commercial commitments and KPIs defined in client business cases
Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required; other languages are a plus
Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce, Jira) and data-driven sales reporting
Independent, proactive, and goal-oriented work style with strong execution skills
Preferred Qualifications:
A strong personal network in the telecom industry, particularly among MNOs and global aggregators
Understanding of SMPP/SIP protocols, API integration models, and CPaaS architecture
Experience launching partner programs, white-label services, or SaaS-based telecom platforms
Previous exposure to high-growth international environments or telecom tech start-ups
Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses
21 days annual paid leave
Flexible working hours and a supportive work-life balance culture
Remote-friendly working setup
Team events and company outings
Access to professional development programs and continuous training
