Vultr is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Architect to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions using Power BI. The ideal candidate is an expert in common data stores such as MySQL, BigQuery, Clickhouse, with proven experience maintaining, managing and manipulating systems and data for presentation to meet business needs in PowerBI. This is a highly visible role in a high-growth technology company, which will require interaction with executive team members across multiple functions. What to expect:
- Own, architect, and build internal datasets for business intelligence reporting
- Manage existing infrastructure such as our Production MySQL cluster, internal CRM database, BigQuery, Power Query (M Language), Salesforce, etc.
- Build automated, accurate reporting dashboards
- Designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Power BI
- Developing visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop
- Create the data model and establish relationships
- Create the DAX based calculations and resolve issues
- Resolve any issues related to loops and hierarchy
- Create and review models and KPIs
- Create and review visualization
- Establish data level security and object level security
- Establish model used for self-service BI
- Work cross-functionally to improve business intelligence architecture and reporting
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to performance, environments, monitoring and operability of Power BI reports.
- Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across business and IT organizations.
Our new team member will need:
5+ years of hands-on development experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence stack / Power BI and BigQuery
At least 3 years experience building business AND Accounting & Finance-focused visualizations and user interfaces
Background building ETL pipelines
Demonstrates proficiency in the development and administration at least one of the following areas:
- Back-end data integration and architecture including dimensional data modeling, database design, data warehousing, ETL development, and performance tuning
- Front-end reporting and analytics platforms including OLAP cube design, tabular data modeling, Performance Point, Power Pivot, Power View, Power BI Report and Dashboard development
Extremely strong SQL skills
Experience with Several9s DB Ops tools
Foundational knowledge of the following areas:
- Metadata management
- Master Data Management
- Data Governance
- Data Analytics
Security and compliance minded workflows
Demonstrated track record of prioritizing, multitasking, and managing multiple projects/assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Strong analytical skill set and ability to translate business processes and data into insights and solutions
Strong problem solving, critical thinking skills and a high attention to detail a must.
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work proactively, both individually and as a team.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, client-facing role where delivering solid work products to exceed high expectations is a measure of success
Compensation
$110,000-$125,000
This salary can vary based on location, years of experience, background and skill set.
