The Chargeback Specialist is a key member of the Payment Operations team. They specialize in chargeback disputes, minimizing financial losses to Entrata and Entrata’s clients. The Chargeback Specialist reports to the VP of Payment Program Management. They serve as a facilitator of communication between our clients and the banks regarding chargeback-initiated activities. Properties rely on the Chargebacks Specialist and their banking expertise to ensure chargebacks are handled in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
Responsibilities will include:
- Handles all chargebacks, disputes, credits, and reversals
- Responds effectively to emails internally and externally, keeping within our Service Level Expectations (SLA) of 2 business days
- Detailed transaction research, analytical skills, making educated decisions, and documenting all actions that are taken
- Apply card associations industry regulations and practices, resolving disputes
- Implement measures to minimize loss and educate clients to prevent future disputes
- Work retrieval cases from start to finish, which includes merchant notification, gathering required information, reviewing documentation, making educated decisions, and representing the case to the card brand.
- Assists team members when needed with other projects
- Continuously strive to improve processes, service quality to internal and external partners
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience in the banking or payment processing industry
- Experience with payment processing types such as credit cards
- Experience with chargebacks
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite with an emphasis on creating formulas to build complex spreadsheets
- Demonstrates clear, concise, and respectful verbal and nonverbal communication
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to establish priorities, work collaborative and meet objectives
- Must be able to maintain productive, positive, and cooperative relationships within the company as well external partners such as banks and processors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with payment processing rules and regulations
- Knowledge of Google Suite
- Knowledge of SQL
- 2+ years of basic accounting experience and/or terminology
$19.62 - $30.77 an hour
This band covers the full salary range for the role. Your offer within this range will depend on factors like experience, skills, and internal equity.
