About the Role:
The Director of FP&A will play a pivotal role in building the future of Honor. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and leading critical company-wide financial processes including annual budgeting, monthly P&L reviews, forecast updates, preparation for quarterly board meetings, and headcount and opex approval processes. By leveraging data, analyzing financial performance, and applying creative thinking, you will identify opportunities, inform prioritization of key initiatives, and ensure that Honor’s resources are aligned to the company’s strategic priorities and that we’re operating with both efficiency and purpose. This is a key leadership position with frequent senior executive interaction and full company visibility.
About the Team:
The Finance team at Honor plays a critical role in enabling the company’s long-term success. Our core purpose is to ensure the financial strength and sustainability of the business. We work to serve Shareholders by ensuring company resources are used to maximize the return on their investment, Senior Leadership by providing reporting and analysis used to guide strategic decision making, and Business leaders at all levels of the organization by providing the insights and tools they need to make data-driven decisions
As our Director, FP&A at Honor, you will:
- Financial Planning & Forecasting: Develop and lead company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and headcount planning processes with discipline and insight. Drive alignment and ensure plans reflect both ambition and reality.
- Strategic Business Partnership: Act as the primary finance partner to Senior Executives across our Technology, Legal, and People teams, helping shape and evaluate strategic priorities through a financial lens.
- Systems and Process Improvement: Identify process gaps and proactively drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Establish a vision for financial planning systems and partner with technology teams to implement.
- Financial Modeling and Analysis: Build and maintain sophisticated models to inform key corporate decisions. Conduct data-driven analyses to guide business initiative prioritization and resource allocation.
- Data Integration & Analysis: Leverage multiple data sources to uncover interdependencies, forecast outcomes, and generate insights that drive meaningful business change.
We’re looking for you to bring:
- 10+ years of progressive FP&A experience, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership role supporting executive stakeholders and leading annual planning, forecasting, and financial processes for a company or large business unit.
- Track record of success in large-scale, world-class finance environments (e.g., Fortune 100 companies) and high-growth or operationally complex organizations.
- Expertise in building and operationalizing FP&A processes from the ground up, including budget cycles, headcount, business reviews, forecasting cadences, variance analysis, board reporting, and scenario modeling.
- Strong systems orientation, with hands-on experience managing and leveraging financial planning systems such as Adaptive, Anaplan, or equivalent, as well as BI tools like Looker or Tableau. SQL experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Product, Engineering, and People functions, ensuring alignment on financial plans, data accuracy, and resource management.
- Experienced in preparing and delivering executive-level and board-facing financial materials, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights and risk/opportunity narratives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Science, or another quantitative field required; MBA a strong plus.
Leadership Principles:
Honor’s Leadership Principles are the foundation of translating our mission into action. These principles define how we show up and make decisions, and how we hire, develop and grow talent. While Honor has 13 leadership principles, the following are particularly relevant to this role:
- Fly High & Dive Deep: Leaders operate at all levels. They know when to stay connected to the details to enable execution and when to stay high level and empower others. Leaders audit when data and anecdotes differ.
- Identify Problems: Leaders have a keen sense that an identifiable problem is present. They identify it, determine the root cause and propose a solution. Leaders ensure solutions are implemented and partner as necessary.
- Think Systemically: Leaders consider the impact their ideas and actions have on the entire organization before making decisions. They consider inputs from across the organization and think about how their outputs will impact the entire company and its constituents. They prioritize what’s best for the broader business beyond their own team and don’t sacrifice long-term success for short-term results.
- Tend to be Right: Leaders have strong judgement, make decisions using informed data, good instincts and learned experiences. They actively seek out diverse perspectives and know that they can learn from others - even in areas where they are considered an expert. Leaders honor current constraints of the business and over time their decisions prove to be correct.
