We’re looking for a Head of Procurement to lead the transformation of Clover’s vendor and purchasing function into a structured, scalable, and value-driving capability. This role will own procurement strategy and operations across the company, working closely with Legal, Finance, AP, Security, and business stakeholders to ensure we design agreements that prove their value to the business and workflows that encourage stakeholder partnership.
You’ll bring operational discipline, modern tooling, negotiation, and relationship building expertise to a function that’s maturing and modernizing to align with Clover Health’s scale and strategic prioritizes. You’ll also help shift the mindset across the business—from reactive purchasing to intentional, value-oriented procurement.
As a Head of Procurement, you will:
- Set the vision and operating model for a modern procurement function that aligns with Clover’s current and future scale.
- Lead sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor lifecycle management for goods and services across all business units including driving clear ROI and vendor accountability.
- Oversee implementation and management of Gatekeeper, our vendor contract management tool, and ensure it supports documentation, approvals, and policy enforcement in a frictionless experience for the business.
- Build and refine purchasing processes, and serve as the business lead for associated systems and policies.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Finance, AP, IT, and Compliance to streamline procurement operations and mitigate risk.
- Ability to influence, educate and drive adoption among business partners unfamiliar with structured procurement practices.
- Develop dashboards and reporting to track contract volume, vendor performance, savings metrics, and spend visibility.
- Evaluate vendor partnerships through data and KPIs, identify opportunities for consolidation or improvement, and advise leadership accordingly.
- Experience building and mentoring high-performing teams by fostering operational excellence, clarity, and a strong service orientation.

- Clover shifts from reactive purchasing to a proactive procurement process adopted across all business units.
- Gatekeeper is fully cleaned up, implemented, and used consistently to manage contracts, approvals, and compliance.
- Vendor contracts reflect Clover’s terms, risk posture, and service expectations—with measurable cost savings and improved vendor accountability.
- Business leaders view procurement as a trusted, enabling partner that balances speed, discipline, and strategic value.
You should get in touch if:
- 7+ years of procurement, sourcing, or vendor management experience, including time leading a function.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments and demonstrates resilience when faced with organizational resistance or change fatigue.
- A track record of building or significantly improving procurement functions in scale, effectiveness and strategic partnership with the business.
- Strong working knowledge of procurement tooling and track record of optimizing systems to ease customer friction (e.g. Gatekeeper, Coupa, SAP, etc.).
- Hands-on experience negotiating a wide range of contracts, including MSAs, SLAs, SOWs, and licensing agreements that have demonstrated value and vendor accountability .
- Experience working across Legal, Finance, and IT to ensure compliance and alignment.
- Excellent communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with annual contract volumes in the hundreds and vendor spend in the millions.
- Bachelor’s degree required; relevant certifications (e.g. CPM, CPSM) are a plus.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $175,000. Final pay is based on several factors including but not limited to internal equity, market data, and the applicant’s education, work experience, certifications, etc.
