Job description

Be a part of the team building the future of healthcare!

Firefly Health is building a revolutionary new type of comprehensive health “care and coverage,” powered by a relationship-driven care team, a trusted virtual and in-person clinical network, and our proprietary technology platform.

Founded by experienced clinicians and technology leaders, Firefly Health is on a mission to deliver clinical and financial health through joyful, always there care. We are flipping the script on what it means to be a health plan and actually providing a true health benefit to members.

We are intensely focused on optimizing the physical + mental + financial wellbeing of those who want (and deserve) something better than the status quo. If you are ready to roll up your sleeves and take on our audacious mission, we would love to hear from you.

Your Role

As the Licensing and Credentialing Manager at Firefly Health, you play an important role in ensuring our healthcare services run smoothly. Your work directly supports our care teams, allowing them to focus on patient care without being bogged down by administrative tasks. By managing licensing, credentialing, and compliance, you help uphold our commitment to high-quality, accessible healthcare. You’re passionate about contributing to a seamless healthcare experience and have a keen eye for detail and organization.

You will:

Licensing, Credentialing, and Payer Enrollment

  • Be responsible for the end-to-end management of licensing, credentialing, and payer enrollment processes, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and payer-specific requirements
  • Complete licensing and credentialing tasks when applicable, including portal updates and form management
  • Act as the primary contact between Firefly Health and our Licensing and Credentialing vendor, using the relationship to drive innovation and process improvement
  • Coordinate with internal teams to remain informed about developments and strategy impacting licensing and credentialing activities

Provider Support and Communication

  • Assist providers in completing licensing and credentialing related tasks efficiently, providing guidance and creating self-service tools
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels to update providers on status changes, requirements, and regulation updates
  • Manage timelines and proactively address tasks to ensure all Firefly providers maintain compliance with federal, state, and payer requirements

System Development and Maintenance

  • Establish and uphold a systematic approach to enable providers to stay up-to-date on all licensing and credentialing obligations with minimal disruption to clinical duties
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all licensing and credentialing activities, ensuring transparency and accessibility for all stakeholders

You’d be a good fit if:

  • You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in multi-state provider licensing and credentialing across various payers or 5+ years of provider licensing and credentialing experience in a brick and mortar practice
  • Your organizational skills and attention to detail are strong, allowing you to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • You excel in written communication and are capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely
  • You are adept at working within tight deadlines, consistently delivering quality results on time
  • Independent and self-motivated, you thrive in virtual work environments, actively engaging with your team despite geographical distances

It’d be nice if:

  • You have prior experience in a virtual healthcare setting, understanding the unique challenges and opportunities it presents
  • You’ve managed internal license renewal processes, demonstrating foresight and planning in ensuring continuous provider compliance
  • Your knowledge extends to KPIs relevant to L&C departments, enabling you to monitor and enhance departmental performance
  • You have a track record of contributing to workflow redesign or process improvement initiatives, showing a proactive approach to enhancing operational efficiency

Our office is located in Watertown, Massachusetts, but we’ve developed a robust remote working structure to give us more geographical flexibility while hiring for many positions.

This role can be done largely remotely, there are several times a year when staff come together onsite for planning and team building.

Firefly is an equal opportunity employer. We value diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We’re committed to building and sustaining an inclusive workplace culture where individuals are treated with dignity and respect. All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need. Firefly is an E-Verify employer.
