Job description
About Sprinter Health
At Sprinter Health, our mission is to dramatically expand access to healthcare by reimagining the patient experience—delivered at home and powered by technology for scale.
We’re looking for an energetic, creative, and entrepreneurial People Generalist to take ownership of supporting our critical Clinical team. This is a role that promises day 1 impact and has an uncapped upper bound on individual trajectory, influence, and development.
We’re building the technology and clinical services stack to make preventive, connected healthcare accessible for everyone in the US. We deliver hybrid care (in-home + virtual) backed by data products across 15+ states, serving 60%+ of the US population through major health plans and systems. With 1M+ patients and 92+ NPS, we’re rapidly scaling our impact. Our team of technologists, clinicians, and operators is backed by investors including a16z, General Catalyst, GV, and Accel, which have backed companies like Devoted Health, Livongo, Benchling, Stripe, Ramp, Airbnb, Lyft, Instagram, and Databricks.
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and resourceful People Generalist to help scale and support our growing team—especially our frontline hourly employees who deliver care in patients’ homes every day. This is a high-impact role with broad exposure across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to employee relations to off-boarding and everything in between. You’ll partner closely with the People, Ops, and Field teams to ensure every Sprinter and Nurse Practitioner has a great experience.
What You’ll Do
- Day-to-Day HR Support: Serve as the go-to HR partner for hourly and salaried team members—fielding questions, resolving issues, and advising managers.
- Employee Relations: Handle employee concerns with discretion and care. Conduct investigations and coach managers on performance and behavior-related issues.
- Onboarding & Off-boarding: Drive onboarding processes that are compliant, consistent, and welcoming. Manage offboarding to ensure smooth transitions and feedback loops.
- HR Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. Assist in audits, policy updates that scale and match our culture, and training initiatives.
- Benefits & Leaves: Support benefits education and enrollment. Manage employee leaves (e.g., disability, workers comp, parental leave) and coordinate return-to-work plans.
- Culture & Engagement: Help foster an inclusive culture where all employees feel valued, engaged with our mission and supported.
- Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements in workflows, systems (e.g., HRIS), and reporting to help the team scale.
- Payroll: Manage payroll for the team to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Handle state and local payroll related taxes through our payroll system and third party firm.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years as a Generalist, preferably in a high-growth environment
- Experience supporting an hourly workforce across multiple US states
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices across multiple U.S. states
- Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Rippling)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—you’re empathetic, direct, and solution-oriented
- Comfort with ambiguity and a builder’s mindset—you’re energized by creating structure from scratch.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus
- Residence in eastern or central time preferred
Perks & Benefits
- Competitive compensation and meaningful equity
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage—100% paid for you and your dependents
- Flexible PTO + 11 company holidays
- 401(k) with company match
- Generous parental leave (16 weeks for birthing parents, 8 weeks for all others)
- Short- and long-term disability, life insurance, and more
- Annual learning & development stipend
- Remote-first culture with occasional in-person gatherings
