Carbonfuture

Carbonfuture, founded in 2020, is a digital platform for durable carbon removal. We specialize in enabling the carbon removal market through services like CO2 certificates, climate farming, and biochar solutions. We offer two main products: Carbonfuture MRV+ and Carbonfuture Marketplace. Carbonfuture MRV+ is an integrated, end-to-end solution for monitoring, reporting, and verification of carbon removal projects. It supports the entire carbon removal lifecycle, from initial project support and due diligence to third-party verification and certification. Our Marketplace connects carbon removal supply with demand, offering portfolios of verified carbon removal credits to corporate buyers and simplifying market access for suppliers. Our global network includes diverse carbon removal technologies like Biochar Carbon Removal (BCR), Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS), Direct Air Carbon Capture and Storage (DACCS), and Mineralization. We work with projects on five continents. Our clients include Microsoft, Swiss Re, and the World Economic Forum’s First Movers Coalition. We have offices in Freiburg, Germany; Zürich, Switzerland; and San Francisco, CA, United States.

We are dedicated to actively removing carbon from the atmosphere. Our team consists of between 45 and 50 members from 12 nationalities, with approximately 65% working remotely. We operate with an international hybrid/remote setup, with team members located across the EU, US, and Latin America, offering the flexibility to work from home or a remote location. We make sure to meet in person regularly to build strong relationships. Our work culture is purpose-driven, inclusive, and collaborative, operating in an agile environment with clear objectives. We focus on continuous development, working as a team of skilled professionals who interact directly and have short decision paths. Our hiring process is structured for each role, typically including an initial HR call, role-specific interviews (technical or non-technical), and reference calls. New hires receive a personal welcome package, an optional in-person start, a comprehensive introduction to our company ‘circles’, and a dedicated buddy.

We offer flexible working hours and a competitive salary. Full-time employees receive 30 days of paid leave plus bank holidays.
