About us

TruffleHog is a popular open source tool used by security researchers all over the world to find leaky API keys and responsibly disclose them to affected companies. This provides income through bug bounty platforms like HackerOne to individuals that may otherwise have a hard time finding employment. This also prevents breaches from occurring, which can be very costly for companies to resolve.

When we founded Truffle Security Co. in February of 2021, we committed to continue to grow a community with security researchers around the world, and continue to provide free and open resources to support those that make the world more secure. We have a strong commitment to open source and to the community. We’re looking for help supporting our mission to prevent leaking credentials and build the best products for machine identity protection.

About the role

We are seeking a Sales Development Representatives (SDR) to join our dynamic sales team and focus on inbound leads. As an Inbound SDR, you’ll be the first line of engagement for potential customers reaching out through website forms, demo requests, content downloads, webinars, and events. Your job is to qualify interest, uncover pain points, and set high-quality meetings for our Account Executives. You’ll play a critical role in building a strong pipeline and delivering a world-class buyer experience.

What you’ll be working on

  • Respond to inbound leads quickly via email, phone, and LinkedIn
  • Qualify inbound prospects using frameworks like BANT or MEDDPICC-lite
  • Set meetings and hand off qualified opportunities to AEs
  • Research accounts and personalize outreach based on role, industry, and behavior
  • Maintain detailed activity and notes in Salesforce
  • Collaborate with Marketing to give feedback on lead quality and conversion trends
  • Participate in ongoing sales and product training to sharpen skills
  • Consistently meet or exceed daily activity and monthly meeting goals

What we’re looking for

  • 1+ years of professional experience, preferably within in a sales development role (SaaS or tech sales a plus)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with prospects and convey the value of our solutions
  • Self-motivated and extremely ambitious, with a drive to achieve sales targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce and sales engagement tools such as Outreach, Salesforce, Hubspot

  • Previous SDR or BDR experience (inbound or outbound)
  • Knowledge of open source software and/or software development
  • Interest in cybersecurity, cloud, or infrastructure software
  • Previous experience in a fast-growing, fast-paced startup environment

Salary range: The target base salary range for this position is between $63,000 to $74,000 for candidates in the United States. The total compensation for this role includes sales commission, with on-target earnings as $100,000. Starting salary will vary based on job-related skills, knowledge, and experience. Leveling will be determined during the interview process. You may also be offered a bonus, stock options, and benefits. These salary ranges are subject to change, and we encourage candidates outside of this salary range to apply.
